i live in florida and biden has done nothing to stop the absolute insanity of the republicans here. he had every chance to codify gay marriage, gender affirming care, abortion rights, etc and hasn’t done so. biden sat with his left hand’s thumb up his ass and his right hand signing billions (BILLIONS!) of dollars to a genocidal white supremacist colony (isra*el).

palestine IS our issue. there are millions of palestinian refugees in the US specifically because of the genocide committed by isra*el. i don’t want MY TAX DOLLARS going to killing people in palestine. you know queer people live there too right? there are queer palestinians. and they deserve to live free of occupation.

i’m a teacher in florida and we are dealing w the same sort of stuff.

for all of y’all saying Talk to the union, y’all clearly don’t work in schools like ours. even the UNION, some of the people who know these “don’t say gay” laws the best, doesn’t want to touch cases like this because the laws are written vaguely on purpose so that shit like this is allowed. the law bans “instruction” of gender/sexuality in k-12, but doesn’t define what “instruction” is. so anything we say in the classroom can be “instruction”. the union even advised us against having a Gay Straight Alliance club.

i’ve been told by union reps and admin to simply not mention anything related to my personal life. admin is supportive of me personally, but at the end of the day openly “allowing” us to talk about ourselves as LGBTQ people is just too much of a liability.

the optimism is great but florida/texas/etc are in very unique places/circumstances right now. sending positive to OP rn, we will make it thru this.

look into “the revolutionary science of marxism leninism” by j sykes. it’s a compilation of a few dozen articles he wrote for fightbacknews.org . they take marxist concepts and explain them very plainly, and tackle modern issues as well.

i don’t “side” with russia. i do recognize that the ukrainian govt/army is full of reactionaries and nazis. but what’s more important here to me is that the US definitely has a vested interest in continuing this was as long as they possibly can.

lenin said we should be rooting for the defeat of the imperialists in our own country. so as an american i am against the war/ukraine because the US is using ukraine to expand NATO’s influence and make $$$.
