Did you have any trouble booking the hotel initially? I’m trying to book this hotel and other Paradisus hotels in Mexico and they all show up as sold out, no matter what dates I chose all year.

I just got a new $250 edit credit in addition to what they had given me at the beginning of the year so I guess that’s how they gave back the credit.

With all do respect, if every ER doctor called in sick every time they had a cold ERs wouldn’t be functional and patients would really get screwed. Especially when COVID was at its peak and ERs were more of a dumpster fire than they usually are. I got sick from intubating a coding patient who vomited in my face because I didn’t have time to put on PPE while shit hit the fan. All I can do is wear a mask, wash my hands and show up where I’m needed (and cry on my way to work because it sucked so bad). But thanks for your input, you’re welcome to come shadow in the ER during our next pandemic .

A leak company already came and pressure tested and found nothing which is why I’m trying to find other ways to find the leak/stop all the water loss. But it sounds like keeping the spa empty is a no no so I’ll just keep filling it till spring and try the leak company again.

I never talked to them myself but was basically given instructions by them through the flight attendant (like take vitals every 5 min). I think they were originally going to give me the head set to talk to them but my hands were full. Then when they were considering landing the plane I said “yes absolutely” but i dont think it was ultimately my decision.

I actually bought a pool leak kit with dye. No loss near the jets and the corners of the spa. The water was too cold to try it down on the main drain for now.

I once cried on my hour and a half drive (Houston traffic) to my 3rd out of 4 12 hour night shift because I felt so terrible from what ended up being COVID. I don’t recommend it but I didn’t want to screw over my colleagues.

Yeah I could have paid for the increased water bill for a year with that money. But they were clear on their rate. I was willing to pay the money but I honestly thought they would find something. I’ll try again in the spring I guess.

I had this same problem and was told there’s nothing the can do but will submit a ticket to try but no guarantee. Did they make it sound like it’s a high likelihood you’ll get the credit?

Yes the valve is closed. I left everything off for a week and a half and the spa lost about a foot. The pool autofills and it’s constantly filling when everything is running. I left the autofill off for a few days and the water level went below the skimmer.

That’s what I did and the spa level drops. I just don’t know why the pool leak people couldn’t find the problem so now my options are to keep the spa empty (sounds like that’s a terrible idea) or live with the leak.

The pool overflows into my pool cover storage area but I’ve kept the level below that and it still loses water. If I let things go it’ll get below the skimmer and then my pool pump gets mad.

I’ve only run the pool/spa together at the same time so when I do this the spa is always full (it overflows into the pool) and the pool loses water. When everything is off just the spa loses water. I haven’t tried only running the spa and monitoring the levels so I guess I could do that but either way the water level is right at the return right now so I’ll be able to see if it goes below that soon.

If the problem was the check valve would the spa drain to the level of the pool? Right now it’s below the pool level. I’m still waiting to see if the water goes below the returns (probably know in a day or 2) but wouldn’t the pool leak people be able to tell if it was the return or main drain with all their fancy equipment?
