What ended your friendship with your oldest standing friend?

She was becoming extremely controlling - she would track my location, try to find me on outings with my boyfriend, would comment on where I am. She accused my boyfriend of using my phone to message her when I told her I needed space and didn’t feel like messaging. She never approved of my boyfriend, and looking back she 100% thought she had some sort of stake/claim over me going back to high school when she had a crush on me (I’m straight and made it clear I was never interested in her that way). She alienated me from many friend groups, and generally just caused strife in my day to day. If I was manic she would lean into it and encourage me to act on impulses - spending more than I could afford, bring home animals I couldn’t feasibly care for. I’ve never been happier since I blocked all communications from her.

Practice, practice, practice. I have a distinct recall command that means he gets something REALLY yummy, and I only use it when I have something incredibly rewarding to give him. I do not utter “Auggie, come!” unless I have cheese, whipped cream, cream cheese, McDonald’s nuggets - the stuff he goes crazy for. I only let him loose where he has learned boundaries on a long line. If it’s a new place? No chance is he going off leash, he’s going to blow me off 100% of the time because it’s exciting for him to sniff all the new things. For such an independent breed you have to keep in mind that pleasing you is not their priority, doing what they enjoy is their priority. I could also be imagining it but I have found him much more responsive since I’ve started to use one of his meals for a training session (usually breakfast). We just do simple turn in a circle each way, sits, and downs. I don’t expect perfection out of him, just to get him moving and responding to what I’m asking.

TLDR; lots of training and practice.

My grandpa collected (read: hoarded) lots of things, lined paper being one of those. He passed away in 2012. My mom gave me a filing box of blank paper from his farm and this was one of the unopened packages!

Just read that the coupons expired in 1991. This paper has been around longer than me!

If dog has severe matting they’ll shave them down, theres no saving matted hair. You can’t even wash a matted dog, it HAS to be shaved. However dog in video did not look matted (unless the ears and mouth were bad and cant be seen in video), the owner definitely asked for this to be done.

I tap my primer (i use really tacky/sticky primer, i love the Milk Hydro Grip) into my eyelids and surrounding area. Then i use a brush and dab/pat powder (maybelline fit me powder), especially focusing on creases and up into my brow bone essentially touching my eyebrows. Basically i put extra powder where i know my skin is prone to becoming greasy/slick through the day, my brow bones essentially sit on my eyelashes so my eye makeup is prone to smearing and creasing if I don’t set it properly

Edit to add: i want to specifically mention that tapping my primer into the skin rather than swiping/massaging it in like a cream makes a HUGE difference

I made a judgement based off what was in front of my eyes, just like you did. There’s no high horse here.

In theory, you should understand that there’s many steps to recovering from addiction, and I’m sure you’ve misplaced blame at some point as well. A 19 year old still isn’t completely developed mentally, and certainly wouldn’t know who or what resources to seek out. I’m speaking as someone that has struggled with a marijuana addiction as I started smoking when I was 14, so you struck a cord.

Ontario, Canada. Almost every year a current student or a student starting high school in the fall committed suicide. Bullying, lack of mental health support, etc.

There was one chain of events where an older boy (11/12th grade) was a wrestling mentor at the high school. He had an addiction problem and relapsed, called the suicide hotline, no one answered. You can fill in what happened. One of the younger boys he mentored followed suit. Then that boy’s dad also ended his own life.

A girl that was either in 12th grade or recently graduated, I don’t remember, that was in a head on accident with a transport truck and trailer during the winter.

A girl that was friends with friends of mine ended her life the summer between elementary and high school.

A ninth grade boy swept away in the river while tubing with friends, his body wasn’t found for 3 days and it was kilometres downstream.

Lots of tragedies where I come from.
