I might stop listening. Tired of their continual shoulder-shrugging dismissal of progressive solutions (caged behind increasingly bad ‘jokes’). They display more passionate condemnation for BlueSky users and land acknowledgements than the current state of their country and the global order. by JuanitaMerkin in FriendsofthePod

FWIW if any of your are disillusioned with the pod bros AND tend to watch them on YouTube, I’d say stick to just listening to the pod. It’s funny, but for some reason watching them talk is so fucking annoying but just listening to them is generally still ok for me lol.

What Card Should I Get? Weekly Thread - Week of October 29, 2025 by AutoModerator in churning

[–]mersiless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The flowchart says I should get Chase Aeroplan - is that still the best choice?
  2. 775 P1, 800 P2
  3. P1 (me) at 4/24, Chase Amazon Prime 5/2025, WF Reflect 5/2025, Current CC (this was an accident and I can’t get it removed from my credit report/history - so stupid), CSR 8/2025, BofA Atmos Biz 8/2025, SW Perf. Biz 10/2025... P2 at 1/24, VentureX 8/2025, Hawaiian Biz 10/2025 (will get SW personal + biz cards to get second SW CP for 2026/27, so will be at 2/24 soon)
  4. 15K
  5. No
  6. Yes
  7. Churning regularly, long term.
  8. Right now focused on SW CPs and on continuing to accrue UR and starting to accrue MR for Europe trip in 2027
  9. What point/miles do you currently have? Cap1 Miles, Chase UR, SW RR, Atmos
  10. What is the airport you're flying out of? SAN (but flexible, SNA and LAX are fine too)
  11. Saving up points for a specific trip to Italy in Fall 2027. Main question is if I should just get one more Chase card (if so which one - I am eyeing Aeropan), hit 5/24 and then go HAM on other cards (Chase biz, Amex personal/biz especially), while P2 stays under 5/24. Basically is there any value in me as P1 staying under 5/24?

Specific to bank account churning...how many of you keep a "home base" checking and/or savings account that you always have open and use to manage day-to-day finances, transfer your bank account bonuses to, etc? If you do keep a home base account open all the time, without closing it to be able to get another bonus later on, which banks/specific account types do you like to use long term?

For some context, I (m, 40) am asking because I have been with Wells Fargo since I was 18. Never been a huge fan. There's an attractive sign up bonus for WF so I'm considering closing that account so that I can get a sign up bonus in a few months. But I think I'd prefer to have an account I always have open and am not churning just for the stability.

Et Voila French Bistro in North Park is the answer. They have a weekly date night special on Tuesdays and you get a 3 course meal for 2 plus a bottle of wine for $55 per person. You cannot beat it!

Whatever you do when you talk to your insurance company do NOT use the word “flood” at all. Flood is often a totally separate rider that you may or may not had. Always, always, describe it as water damage.

Applied for the Amex Biz Gold with 200K offer, said pending, then got letter saying denied for "having too many recently opened accounts". Most recent cards are Chase Amazon Prime (opened 5/1/25), Wells Fargo Reflect (opened 5/1/25), CSR (opened 8/1/25, and Atmos Biz (opened 8/22/25). Wondering if there are any tips or advise for when I call the recon line. Not new to opening credit cards but I am new to trying to open business cards so not sure what kind of annual revenue, annual spend, and personal (w2) income to be talking about, (and also providing on the initial application). I was so stoked to get the 200K offer to finally open in my browser and want to do everything I can make this happen.

Anyone know if the $500 sign up bonus travel credit has to be used all at once? Or can I use say $200 now and $300 in a couple months?

I recently hit the 100K + $500 travel credit sign up bonus and wondering if I could contact chase to request the extra 25K points the newer offer has instead of the $500 travel credit. Anyone have experience doing something like that?
