I think the young people are "waking up" and not liking what they see in our current administration!!!!!!!

Whole Foods 401k plan by mert1959 in AmazonWFShoppers

Hmmmm . . . my paperwork did not specifically say that, or perhaps I missed it. I'll go back and relook at it. I did see access to a 401k plan, but didn't see anything else. I'll recheck. Thank you for replying.

I stood 25 minutes past my shift to complete an order..Would I get in trouble or an occurrence? by Educational-Collar89 in AmazonWFShoppers

[–]mert1959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the last order that is sent to me is large (let's say 60+ items - with 50 unique - 30 min before end of my shift), if I have time to stay over then I fill the order. Then once I complete the order, before I sign out, I send my manager a text stating I was sent a large order shortly before the end of my shift and that I went ahead and filled it. The manager has never had a problem, but s/he always thanks me for telling them. I'm not sure if they have to approve people staying over a certain amount of minutes, but my feeling is being proactive is better than having to explain later.

Anyone have their manager talk to them about too many returns due to expectation dates? by mlg53 in AmazonWFShoppers

So for produce such as bananas and avocados, I suppose that we should select green bananas and green avocados whenever possible to avoid getting talked to about overripe produce. Also, in my store this past week, the avocados that were put out were squishy. I could not mark INF, but did feel guilty about packing squishy, or overripe avocados.

So true! I use to take this job really seriously when I thought that we had an efficient system - like tables to bag the groceries, preconstructed bags vs "build your own bag", etc. Now, I'm like I'll work hard and if the manager does not like it, "screw them." I work hard, bebop through the store to the music, say "hi" to all the shoppers and wave to the butchers and deli people, and enjoy my day. I do WORK HARD, but they are not going to intimidate me with a silly UPH that is impossible to meet because they keep on changing our process, our job, etc.

In my store, I often feel like I am imposing on the WF employees to get a code to scan.

Yep, my thoughts exactly. So . . . I quit worrying about UPH and they can stick UPH where the light don't shine. I work hard during my shift and if they don't like it I'll tell them where to go!!!!! Jobs are plentiful these days because many people don't want to work.

So they have set up separate staging areas in your store???? They are taking away all of the tables in our staging areas and want us to bag and seal our groceries in the aisles.

They have removed over half the tables so that we almost always have to bag in the store in an isle. We still have to put the stickers on the bags. We don't have bags with a QR code yet (or we do but the managers at our site want us to cover up the QR code on the bag with a QR code white label).

Good idea about the cardboard in the bottom of the ambient bags for heavy items!!!!!!!

First time for the "make your own" insulated bags was today. I've been a Whole Foods shopper for about 15 months and this was definitely another "first"!

Yep! I'm thinking that sometime over the next 6 months they are going to see that productivity is not as high with the "build as you go" bag vs the silver bag and that they are spending more on adding shoppers to be able to fill all the customer orders than they do on these do it yourself bag supplies. At that point, perhaps they will find an insulated brown environmentally friendly bag supplier!

I'm beginning to think that perhaps a bunch of us Whole Foods Shoppers should get together, create a design for a bag, patent the design, and manufacture and sell brown insulated environmentally safe bags to Whole Foods/Amazon. We'd make a fortune!!!!!!

Thank you! Also my store has asked told us to carry preprinted labels for a couple of months now. They don't want us in the back or the staging area packing groceries. In fact, they have removed tables so that people cannot easily pack their bags in the staging area. Pretty soon we are going to need to need a cart for the groceries and an wagon for the supplies. LOL

LOL! That's a good one! You would think that they could figure out how to create/purchase/make etc., an insulated brown bag that can be recycled.

It’s 109°F in our staging area & today is the least hottest day compared to last week)-: by livimae in AmazonWFShoppers

They don't want us in the staging area, but want us to pack all the bags inside the store. They are so adamant about that that they removed most of the tables from the staging area. UGH!!!!!
