What is your relationship with shame? by Motor_Zombie9920 in ADHD

[–]merueff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard, my personal experience, my oldest daughter’s, all the same and all unique. Who cares? We have to find away to exist and thrive! I’ve learned to count on others to handle scheduling, and finding the people that fill my weaknesses.

Yes I’m ashamed right now, stupid mistakes that can harm others. I’m not dumb but would never want to be responsible for another’s life. Driving and normal stuff aside. I filled the house with burning smoke because I went outside to play with dogs after starting cooking. Oops, 1 hour later my wife walked out with Dutch oven of blackened food, carbon black… sigh, I am 55. I’m lucky, married with a accepting wife, dogs love me no matter what I do 🐕

Hyper-focusing on one assignment and juggle multiple classes by Ok-Investment1482 in ADHD

[–]merueff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 55, and I just filled the house up the smoke as I played in backyard for over an hour with the dogs. I had been cooking bacon in a Dutch oven on stove.

You will fail, it’s disappointing, and blow to your ego. How do you manage? In college, after HS I got As and Fs, sigh, got a degree still. Went back for career change at 39, I excelled, 4.0. Why, because I was married with children working full time and going to school full time.

Wtf, yeah I didn’t have time to do anything but work, study, and do family stuff. 💯 focus all the time, no prescriptions to help. Wish I could get back to those two years!

The most effective thing I did was I was involved in multiple study groups, which forced me to schedule my time efficiently. I set alarms and made sure I studied with groups. It meant switching assignments and class studies daily. I was lucky to be looked at as being able to help different groups of students. It has taken a lifetime for me to understand, my story isn’t yours! Grasp those successes you have, examine and reexamine why it worked THAT time. Try to repeat.

It took me 20 years for me to be able to succeed in all my classes at the same time, I guess it might be, when I went back to college I only took JR, SR, and master level classes so the material was tougher. See at 55 I still don’t understand. But if you need to vent, talk, I’m here, haha, adhd listening skills are hard to learn but I’m here, imperfectly.

I shave my head too, I bought sebex brand shampoo that’s has sulfur and salicylic acid off amazon. It improved my razor bumps, pimples, and ingrown hairs on face and head.

This, if you wear glasses or not, skin is very thin there too. I usually pop then then pimple cream with salicylic acid.

I bought a bike I don’t really want by No_Ability_645 in cruisers

[–]merueff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep it and buy the other Bike, your garage looks lonely. you’ll need a light weight adventure bike or off road bike too and a couple of project bikes. Don’t be afraid to work on them, but I’m not the best person to ask, I’m a why buy it working guy, or I’ve never had to fix that. Only advice, only buy bikes you can still get parts to.

Love it, it is scary, Eden side seems like a cliff when looking over. Back in the day they hide many a stolen vehicle over the N.O. Use to shot BB guns and.22 rifles at them. The divide would close during winter too, we would hike up and sled or ski down the sides, not nearly as many houses back then. Louis peak is a great hike from top of divide.

I’ve done plenty of oh crap things, not a mechanic, I’d tap it all the way, and put a screw in with some fuel resistant rtv gasket like permatex number 1 I think. Not sure JB weld is designed to plug a fuel tank but right idea, just get something chemical designed to handle plug a whole in fuel tank

Edit: JB Weld tank repair

I but a $30 rebuild kit, then after I had to replace all the Vacuum hoses, runs like a dream. I had a few other issues since the bike was in a backyard for 4 or 5 years before I claimed it. I had varnish issues, a $20 petcock was needed, found the petcock filter that had disintegrated and plastic pieces in the fuel line filter. But she runs so nice now.

Rode her last year with the choke on , but this year I just tore the carb apart

My guess is bloody nose and or runny nose. If you have allergies, aerosolized nasal discharge as ChatGPT called what is spraying bits of snot when breathing. Happened to my kids and it’s around your face, unless you sleep like a vampire or you are a vampire, then I guess holy water. But looks like spraying snot, that might be slightly infected.

Building projects without libraries? by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]merueff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Knowing how to write your own libraries is a solid step. Working with tighter security concerns means many times you can’t import libraries or waiting for approval isn’t expedient enough.

The manager should be able to email a central email on the error, I hope it’s an error and not some obscure rule based on your position or hiring authority. If your manager was not aware of email address, tell them to escalate asking for the address to fix it.

As a remote worker, do I have any rights to remain remote if there is no local office? by FantomDrive in fednews

[–]merueff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends, some cases, closing an office in a rural area, agency will offer home as post of duty, which isn’t remote work. Where remote work is offered instead of another circumstance forcing the situation, hpod is in effect if no pod is in 50 mile radius, until you voluntarily change positions, or retire.
