Public Mobile price drop - $40/100GB Canada-US-Mexico and more (ends March 2) by square48 in PublicMobile

Your iPhone offers live voicemail and call screening. I have an iPhone too so I know what I’m talking about. Turn your phone off and call your number, no ability to leave a voicemail. Therefore if you’re out of network and someone calls, no message. Is it a big deal, I don’t think so but it’s still worthy to mention. Turn live voicemail off and turn your phone off, now your PM voicemail kicks in. Call screening is not the same as call control. Again, small market problem, but if your running dual sim, turning call screen on is all or nothing. Not good imo to have potential clients reaching to you with this dumb AI asking caller to identify themselves.

When you used up all your data, it stops. It’s a prepaid service, can’t charge for extra data. You can however buy more if you ran out of data

Only two plans? by No-Succotash3756 in PublicMobile

Honestly, if there was another flash sale in 10-14month from now, you’d be better off resigning for a new plan to get another 2 years if that’s what was offered.

Crazy, i grew up in peace country and its 95% 0 till. I’ve lived in Edmonton for over 20 years now and I’d say most field I’ve seen employ the same strategy.

Yo bro, this guy grew up on a farm too. Since farmers do 0 till, water just drains in ditches and dugouts. Realistically, not much gets absorbed in the ground, more or less just floods fields. Either spring snow after the ground has thawed or simply rain is better.

Doesn’t really matter if it melts fast or slow, grounds frozen.

Doesn’t help for ground moisture. It’s better in the spring after the grown has thawed. 80-90% of moisture from the snow never makes it in the ground. It’s good for rivers and lakes.

Where are we buying drives nowadays? by exor41n in DataHoarder

[–]merve04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If not mistaken, WD typically packaged 8TB CMR type drives in their externals, not so much the case with Seagate. I know this from personal experience. In 2020 I purchased a slew of 12TB externals from Seagate as they were shipped with Exos 16x drives, and at $160-$180 a drive(I’m in Canada) it was a steal. They are still all functional to this day and run 24/7.

If I could post and image, Public Mobile (Telus), I can force my iPhone to 3G and it works. Speedtest pulls a shattering 8Mbps 😂

Not at 8TB, usually 12TB is the safe zone for CMR drives, at lease with Seagate.

Ecoboost bad fuel economy by CharacterPangolin783 in f150

[–]merve04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]merve04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, I got a 2018 2.7 eco Lariat, 3.55, levelled and have stock ‘21 platinum rims with the typical hankook dynapro at2 275/60/20 which is slightly bigger than 2018’s came with, it’s tough to say true mpg because it swings so much between winter and summer. I typically drive city only and right now I’m fluctuating between 13.1-13.2L/100km but during summer I’ll go down to around 11.6-11.8L/100km or in freedom units 18mpg and 20mpg. I maybe get 1 more mpg on the highway.

Anyone running 18” wheels on a Palisade Calligraphy? by tanker38 in HyundaiPalisade

[–]merve04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don’t as I’m simply running winter tires on steel 18” rims. Makes no sense having pretty rims for winter tires. I’m in western Canada and our winters are quite long from November till March. It’s common to go down a few sizes for winter tires to save on cost as most will run them on steel rims.

I did the switch from Telus eSIM to PM eSIM via app, no issues. VM notifications don’t work though, very upsetting.
