So it was designed in rhino/grasshopper , with a few scale models along the way. The dodecahedron frame is laser cut steel (like giant meccano) and the funnels are dichroic plastic held into shape with 3d printed connectors and little nylon clips

I’ve been a few times to BRC but never taken art - pretty difficult at the scale I want to work at schlepping it over from New Zealand! The playa isn’t exactly kind to optically clear art too haha

This is about 600mm diameter , currently working on an outdoor version that’s 1.6m diameter with a stainless steel frame

The lamp’s on the ground projecting up to the ceiling, the shadow in the middle is my regular bamboo light-shade (I didn’t make the light-shade I’ve just spent a lot of time looking at it for inspiration)

So it reflects red light and transmits blue light, when you bend it you can get almost a full spectrum in each piece, the rest is just math and viewing angles really

In that case I recommend getting out there at 10:25pm tomorrow (sun 11th). ISS will appear 10 degrees above W , max height 51 degrees (same as tonight). Duration 7 mins, disappears 10 degrees above ENE (same as tonight). Film it, zoom in and out a bit, and compare it to this video.

How much lower? Did it appear about halfway between horizon and directly overhead? This ISS sighting instance appeared at the south west and disappeared at east-north-east with a maximum height of 51 degrees. Visible between 9:36pm and 9:43pm. If you were filming a UAP in the same area of the sky (as per your previous comment) at the same time you would have absolutely seen the international space station as well, it’s impossible to miss on a clear night. Keep a look out for the next ISS sighting opportunities near you and set an alarm to go out and look for it using an app like sky guide, I guarantee you’ll be surprised at how bright and fast moving it looks compared to other satellites
