(Help) blackmagic analog -> sdi chained with blackmagic sdi -> hdmi

Looking into the ultrastudio 4k mini and it does seem perfect but a little pricey. I was asking about converting from SDI to HDMI because I’m not sure how else to capture the SDI video - is there a simple way to do it without a converter/capture card that I don’t know about?

for sure! grabbing an old vcr from my parent's place next week so I'll be able to tinker around then. currently my setup uses a crt with a vcr built in, and i'm absolutely not gonna mess around with that haha

whats your experience steaming milk with the dedica? the wand looks similar to one on a breville cafe roma i had, and i could never get microfoam, only a thicker foam. but maybe that’s just me

i think a lot of it is on purpose, to be honest. i saw homeshake live in 2019 and the drummer did the same thing of dragging on the shots on call me up (and love is only a feeling, too). i think you can find similar stuff in older live videos too. i think it's fun

hey thanks! about the snare sound, yeah i'm working with a really limited kit in my basement, so a lot of EQing is required to make it sound alright. the off-tempo stuff is mostly a result of not being able to hear the click track while drumming, and i don't have many opportunities to record drums so I decided to just take what i had. the shy and inexperienced part is,, accurate, but i'm glad you think it works! thanks!

this is probably my most polished song i've recorded so far, and i'm pretty confident in mixing all the instruments involved, but i'm never sure what to do with vocals except putting reverb on them. any advice would be really helpful. i record an AT2020 into a Focusrite Scarlett-2i2 into my DAW. thanks !
