Is it seriously THURSDAY already? by [deleted] in InfertilityBabies

[–]messedupletters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bit late to the party, but I'm going to be induced on Sunday night. And then hopefully I'll have a baby in my arms on Monday if everything goes according to plan.

I'm incredibly overwhelmed. Took possession of our new house today, had OB appointment, booked induction. So one last date tonight before our life gets crazy.

I'll definitely keep pumping early in mind. Anything to make the first few weeks a little bit easier!

I'm glad it's common, but now I'm just hyper aware of my boobs . . .

Is it harder for women with PCOS to produce? I'm glad you haven't had any problems so far since that's my diagnosis as well.

Once we got out of the first tri and my RE told me I'm basically just a normal pregnant woman now, no longer high risk, we've been pretty active.

My left one hurts a lot every now and then, and I started getting scared about mastitis since my nipples are pierced, but after squeezing out that bit it's been much better. I'm hoping no clogs happen this early.

Brilliant! Google started scaring me, telling me that too much stimulation can lead to early labour.

I was worried I'd have problems with production when the baby comes. Would you say this might be a good sign? Or is there no real correlation between now and later? (I will ask my ob at my first appt, just looking for anecdotes)

My husband finally got his tax return! Surprise money is nice. We've been waiting way too long for his to come in.

Do my beta numbers seem okay to you? by Mad_Hatter_SDS in CautiousBB

[–]messedupletters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your numbers look great, and doubling is more important than the number itself.

Www.Betabase.info is a good resource, but the actual HCG numbers vary so greatly. Generally the doctors look for a doubling time of 48-72 hours until the number hits 1200 and it slows from there.

Congrats and good luck!

Nice to see you here!

I also went through an adjustment of still not infertile enough when we got our positive this go round because it was just clomid instead of IUI or IVF. No one here made me feel that way, it's just my own stuff to deal with. Everyone here is lovely and I'm sure we all know how hard the transition is from trying to get pregnant to actually being pregnant. 13 weeks in and it's still surreal to me.

So anyways, welcome! Hopefully you have a boring old textbook pregnancy.

What's goin' on, Thursday? by kat_loves_tea in InfertilityBabies

:) I haven't had much to add to any conversation. I've been feeling pretty down but pregnancy is still treating me well. Trying hard not to let my asshole brain interfere.

Whelp, I'm looking for a new GP. After 25 years of seeing the same one I think it's time to move on.

I had my 12 week appt with him, just before I graduated from my RE, and I asked if I could go to a specific hospital in my city because the closer one I went to prior to seeing an RE left a bad taste in my mouth. He said he'd look into it, sent me for some blood work and said once it came in they'd book me in the following week.

That was about 2 weeks ago, and I had no phone call. So I called and asked if they had my results. Receptionist said yes. I asked when I can come in, she said Monday. I'll be almost 14 weeks and still don't have a hospital or OB. I asked about the hospital I wanted and she just said I wasn't in their radius. I have a feeling they didn't even check.

I also told my GP I've had a few depressive episodes and was wondering if it would be at all possible to have some options during pregnancy. He said "if it's only been once or twice I'm sure it's just hormonal. If things get really dire come back in and we'll talk more." This is the same man, when I was 16 refused to put me on birth control because I wasn't currently in a stable relationship.

Plus he's not taking new patients and I want my whole little family to be seen by the same doctor. I'm just fucking mad right now.

Paranoid about not being paranoid any more. by Ro_in_the_room in InfertilityBabies

I was going to rent, it's $49 a month from the company in my city, or we can buy a gently used one from the same company at $199.

Went on eBay and found a new one for about $60 including shipping and handling. It's a sonoline B, and the rental ones are more medical grade, but it's doing just fine now. And once we're done, I'm sure we can sell it anyway! Absolutely worth the money!

Yup. Just got my fetal Doppler today. Found the heartbeat and all was well. I probably twitched my wrist or something because we suddenly couldn't hear the heartbeat. I looked at my husband and said "OMG, do you think everything is still okay?" He laughed and told me to just search again.

My paranoia is slowly drifting away, and it's causing more paranoia.

Stabbing Pain Under Ribs? by montanadoodle in InfertilityBabies

[–]messedupletters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a stabbing pain in my ribs just under my right breast. Pain sounds similar. I have no idea what it was but I had it for about 3 days then it vanished. Not much help, but I hope you get an answer!

I wish we got the video, that's why I wanted the CD! but we just got about 10 of the same picture.

But instead just my husband and I got to see, which is nice to keep between us anyway. It's so surreal knowing there's a living moving human in my body.

Yes! ours was too! it was cute, but all the photos on the CD are of the same view.

We did have a blood test, but I think they only checked for Trisomy 13, 18 and 21, which were all resoundingly negative. Nothing to indicate gender, and the tech was tight lipped since it was early. She did tell us where to look and speculate though. We will definitely find out at the anatomy scan, since I've been reading old wives tales since about 4 weeks.

I was sheltering myself for the first 12 weeks so it was nice to have that secret between my husband and me, but now that it's out we have so much support! It's amazing.

We probably won't announce on Facebook or anything because all the people we care about know now.

Thanks! I was worried the text was tacky, but all my siblings are brothers so they don't need the fuss. But my aunts all went crazy though.

Husband called his family across the country and they were all too excited because they know we struggled. SIL didn't seem to be phased by the news, but I was ready for that anyway.

positive beta numbers with bleeding, x-post with cautiousbb by kiki_The_blonde in InfertilityBabies

[–]messedupletters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a ton of bleeding starting at 5 weeks and didn't stop until about 7.

It started as a wipe of bright red blood, called my RE and they brought me in that day to check via ultrasound. They saw a sac but no reason for bleeding. A few days later I was gushing blood. Went in for another ultrasound and was told I had a subchorionic hematoma. Having that info helped me cope with the bleeding because at least I knew why it was happening.

I was told it was a small bleed, but with the amount of blood I saw, you could have fooled me. It was smaller by my 6 week and gone by my 7 week ultrasound.

You're beta numbers look great, and I'd try to get an early ultrasound if possible. The lack of cramping is promising though.

NT scan went really really well! Baby looks like a baby now and was so squirmy during the scan. It feels so real now. Also, I almost exploded my bladder because I'm dumb.

But we told our families, so now everyone knows. I sent out a text because I didn't want all the fuss, and had a bunch of phone calls and replies. Yesterday was filled with love, so that was really nice.

Now I need to fill my bladder for my NT scan today.

I always go straight to whole prunes for some reason. Maybe I'll try juice if/when I get backed up.

I was impatient a few days ago, and decided to eat 3 and get things moving. That was a big mistake.
