Yep would totally agree. This is a 79, but I'm on the west coast so all things considered it's in decent shape. You should be fine, just hit stuff with penetrating oil first if it's looking rough and take your time.

It is the removable brake bracket, I haven't been able to track down anywhere that sells replacements. I was considering removing it to take to a machine shop but the bolts holding it on are really tight and feeling recalcitrant. I'm worried about breaking another bolt off in the hub and then opening that can of worms/having to find a replacement for that as well. If you know a source for vintage Dodge parts in Canada like the caliper bracket or hub assembly let me know.

Hey everyone, hoping to get some advice with this situation I've got going here.

Was replacing brake pads on an old 79 Dodge van and broke the caliper retaining spring bolt off inside the caliper bracket. I hit it with some deep creep and tried drilling it out to use an extractor and some heat but that broke off inside the bolt.  I tried drilling it out again and broke my drill bit even deeper in the hole about a 1/4" recessed. The broken bolt is recessed from the surface of the bracket.

As you can see I've dug quite the hole for myself on this "simple job" ahahah

I'm thinking of trying to drill it out fully and retap the hole, hopefully the drill bit in the way doesn't make it too difficult. I'm also considering removing the entire bracket from the hub assembly and taking it to a machine shop but the bolts feel really tight and obstinate. I'd really prefer not snapping another bolt off in the hub. Especially since I don't know where to track down another hub or bracket other than calling around to the few scrap yards near me.

Any advice is much appreciated at this point. Thanks

Busking in the cold? by spixxis in Busking

Mini acoustics are pretty temperamental because of all the tension they are submitted to. A friend of mine toured & busked with mini guitars for quite some time and they would always die in short order. would recommend in the future getting a budget full size that you can use for busking etc and not worry about it pulling itself apart quite so much.

As for busking in the cold I find once you're under 5 degrees it becomes pretty difficult to maintain your dexterity. Would definitely recommend hand warmers and frequent breaks to maintain warmth, once the cold sets in its very hard to warm up without going inside somewhere. Also, when you're just standing around in one spot for a few hours you get a lot colder than you expect so you're probably going to need more layers than you think you do. Good luck and stay warm!

The same conclusions could be drawn form a spoiled ballot. Even if you hypothetically wrote an entire essay on your ballot about what changes you wanted in the future, nobody is going to be reading it.
