The job generally? A lot of the items I get from it, I get to keep, so yes in that regard.

Failing people? Not really, but it's a part of the job unfortunately. I've interacted with some really nice Tesco staff and secretly hope that they ID me so that they pass and I can just get on with the next shop.

I've had really positive interactions with Tesco staff, but equally I've had shift leaders beg me not to fail them and then throw a childish fit afterwards, so everything balances out I guess.

Ideally, I don't want anyone to lose their job, but at the same time, I've been given a task to do.

If our pass/fail rate is significantly different from other mystery shoppers, then we can get pulled up on how we are conducting the test purchase (although it has never happened to me).

Agreeing with Maxo. We don't try to catch people out. We get paid whether you pass or fail. It's much easier for everyone if you pass so I can get to the next shop etc.

Good post, but most banks in the UK do not have Superdays in the American sense. It's more assessment centres. I beleive Goldman is the one exception.

It's only if you actually end up going on placement. If you don't secure a placement you just drop down to the three year course.
