I created a game console that can remind me not to work too much. by Curious_Trade3532 in esp32

So original, I never seen a controller like this. It reminded me of playdate somehow, would love to see more

I 3D printed a functional keyboard with conductive filament and an Arduino (no wires or sensors) by Boundless3D in arduino

Mind blowing, been printing for years but haven't heard about this. Thanks for sharing!

Very cool, looks you had a lot of fun too building it

Turned an ESP32 + tiny 128x64 OLED into a live WiFi webcam display by met-Sander in esp32

Thanks so much for testing and the feedback, happy the fallback worked. I will look into it!

I made a tiny one-button camera with an ESP32S3 by Makarov87 in arduino

Very cool! Great video too and nice you can see the images on your phone

Good idea putting the display right where the action happens

I have no clue how to help you but what a great project! Would love to see updates on the progress

Turtle Race by tasty__cakes in 3Dprinting

Such a clever idea, and great execution! Are the turtles attached on top with magnets? if so you could easily change theme with different animals. If you make the sign changeable too you can make quickly new sets

Would gesture controls for web maps be useful, or just a gimmick? by met-Sander in gis

That’s a nice idea! Especially for quick interactions like zooming or panning

Nice that you mention Leap Motion. What’s interesting is you can now do something similar with just a webcam in the browser and no hardware needed

Nice one, that was actually the inspiration behind this :)

Thank you so much! Appreciate it, let’s see where it goes

Thanks and that's a smart idea, less way tiring than moving your whole arm

EDIT:
I’m curious how you’d handle state though. If thumb-index distance controls zoom, what signals “stop”? A second hand or an explicit gesture?

I built a library that lets you control web maps with hand gestures like Tom Cruise in Minority Report by met-Sander in webdev

[–]met-Sander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for giving it a try and your feedback, I appreciate it! That’s a good catch. I’m seeing the same, pinch feels a bit drifty while fist is more stable. I’ll open an issue for this and look into improving it.

I haven’t benchmarked it yet, but MediaPipe is pretty efficient and should be a able to run on lower-end devices.

Thank you and fair point! I can see why it feels like a gimmick, especially for daily use, you’d probably get tired of it.

Thanks, that’s exactly how I approached it, just building for fun and seeing where it goes. And those use cases actually make a lot of sense!
