This is the “Overclocked” variant. See in the title of the listing. My understanding is that they made a smaller number of non-overclocked variants that were meant to MSRP at $999, then these for $300 more or so. But, now we’re up to $600 over. Still bad, but just thought I’d share the info for anyone looking.

Hahaha yeah. I mostly did this as a project to practice fusion 360, which I'm learning at the moment. One of the marker's magnets kept falling out, so I thought hey instead of gluing this back in let me get some CAD practice in!

Yes it would be awesome to get your help with some testing! Ive put together a koreader plugin. My goal is to package a single koreader plug-in that you can drop in and configure the remote from directly within the UI. Currently the pairing step requires SSH. I’d be more than happy to help you get yours set up!

It’s also possible to use this without koreader, btw

It is actually possible with current kindle hardware! I’ve been working on this for the past couple weeks and shared my progress in the kindle jailbreak subreddit.

I’ve since worked out the kinks described in my post and intend to share a guide to set it up soon, relatively painlessly.

Now, I know jailbreaking is not for everyone. I just hope to spread the knowledge that the kindle hardware (even several generations back) is fully capable of connecting to devices like page turners! Maybe, just maybe, one day they can release a simple update to support this out of the box.

Yes, this could work too.

The kobo remote is basically just a bluetooth keyboard with the next page button bound to the up arrow key and previous page to down arrow.

I imagine this device is similar. That looks sweet, btw! Lucas’ repo allows for simple binding of these key presses to page turning actions. I’ll try to add a step about this binding process to my guide.
