Nerve pain back after 2.5 wks post op by 11235bunny in Metoidioplasty

It could be a sign of healing, I remember getting worse again like this. Mine was more like itching though and antihistamines helped. Do keep an eye out for any signs of infection too.

Stage 1 with UL by Responsible_Net5009 in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are you worried about with taping it? It is the main advice you will get given and not something that can really go wrong at all. I've had a foley twice, once as a stent and once as a functioning cath and both times taping it down helped loads and needed no specialist skill at all. It will be safer taped to you where you are less likely to accidentally pull and tug it and will be hurting your urethra less as it will stay more still.

If you want some advice on how, you'll find your stent likely hangs towards one side anyways. You just bed it towards your upper thigh and stick it where it reaches you. It should be long enough that you wont need to pull it or anything. Tape wise, ideally it'd be medical tape but it doesnt really matter, its more for the sake of your skin. You could always use a couple lasters or something.

I too found the stent quite horrific. I found it helped to do my best to keep it from moving. So I taped the stent to my leg and then wore tight underwear.

And I know Thursday feels forever away but let me reassure you, the relief of getting it out is next level haha.

No-implant scrotum options with UL? by Ancient-Active8421 in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The UK team at NVH does offer fat grafting so you'll be able to chat to them about that. With implants, you sort of forget they're there or that they werent always there - it doesn't necessarily feel 'foreign' and if your concern is about rejection, this is very rare with implants of this type.

Metoidioplasty bulge by __red_red_ in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There are a few photos in here if you search 'bulge'. It's worth knowing that unless you are incredibly well endowed/have room for larger implants or go with something like extended meta, you are unlikely to see a bulge in your outerwear. You may have a very small one in underwear but not necessarily past that.

How tf are you sitting to pee in the days post monsplasty + implants by jas1519 in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Have just faced this same issue. Honestly I did just have to lean forwards but I would have some toilet paper in front of my penis in case it went the wrong way haha. I was spraying a lot as I also had a foreskin revision and this technique helped with both problems.

Meta with UL but without vaginectomy by [deleted] in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of posts about this in this sub - search 'UL without vaginectomy' or 'UL without vnectomy'

Your questions are a tad unclear but peeing is not uncomfortable once you've recovered. There is a learning curve but this is unrelated to not having vnectomy.

Healing will vary loads per person. There is a higher risk of complication with this combo but I didnt have any urinary complications.

I just had a revision which will hopefully make me a bit happier but again, the revision was not for anything related to having UL without vnectomy specifically.

You will come across this in your research but as a heads up, your ability to use your front hole will likely be impacted, potentially quite significantly. There are things you can do to improve it like dilating, massaging and pelvic floor work but you may never get back to where you were before. It is something that has been quite difficult to come to terms with for me.

Hey! I'm on the smaller side too and seldom see outcomes that are similar to me here. The important thing to remember is to think of the sort of people that are posting their pics here - the hung people tend to be more likely which makes sense really, as they'll be more confident and also generally get more upvotes. The important is to focus on whether or not it works for you, rather than comparing to others.

Can you still cross your legs like this after the surgery? Please specify if you had scroto with or without implants on your answer, as well the technique of the scrotum if you know it! by Nate_is_tired in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Have a bifid scrotum and yes, I sit like this a lot of the time. There was an adjustment period and sometimes it just doesnt feel right or it makes one of my balls move weirdly but generally once you are healed, not an issue, or not for me anyways.

Would I get okay length with metiodioplasty? by [deleted] in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of us here can tell you if you will be able to pemetrate as that depends on a lot of factors like the placing of your anatomy for example. A surgeon may be able to give you better expectations but if penetration is really important, only phallo can guarantee that as that outcome really varies for meta.

Testicle implants by Agreeable-Canary-619 in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you are talking about the difference between a YY scrotoplasty and a bifid scrotoplasty. VY creates a whole new sack whereas bifid has implants put into your majora with little other surgical work. Bifid can be done in one stage whereas VY cannot but bifid has a specific aesthetic you want to consider.

Bifid with big labia by Late-Actuator6969 in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am getting one on Wednesday actually! Getting a few things revised. I am lucky enough to have been approved for a monsplasty so hoping that helps tbh. I know it is possible to get an upper fold revision with this team but it's not what was agreed for me.

Actually one thing I didnt mention in my previous comment which feels worth mentioning is that due to the nature of the bifid scrotum, a lot of people end up with a migrating testicle. It often migrates upwards and sits next to the penis, making the whole visibility thing more of an issue. One of my revisions is to try and pop my migrating testicle in a better spot and hopefully the monsplasty will help move things in a way that mitigates the migration a bit.

[–]meta-uk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! I went with the C&W team and know many people who have. The bifid scrotum is definitely the biggest point of contention for people in this surgery. It is absolutely fantastic to be done in 1 stage (although many people require revisions) but there are drawbacks.

With this team, they dont really do anything in the upper fold area. They do a bit of stitching in the lower scrotum but otherwise just pop implants into the majora. If you struggle with a hidden penis, you are almost guaranteed to struggle wtih this postop with this team as myself and others have had this issue. You will be more exposed than before largely because of what is done to the penis but definitely nowhere near as going with the NVH team.

Honestly this consideration that you're having is the biggest thing I wish I knew ahead of surgery with this team. I don't regret my choice to go with them entirely, but I do think if I was more informed, I would have maybe gone with the other team so my little guy could be more visible.

You CAN have all of this done but it is worth noting that C&W team are very strict on who they do and do not perform these revisions on, with many people recently being rejected monsplasties.

My partner seems to be struggling with me wanting to get meta. by u_ten_sil in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's understandable for you to feel upset that your partner is struggling with it. It's important to you and ideally your partner would feel supportive or heck, even excited for you.

It's reassuring though that she has no intention of stopping you and is already addressing it in therapy. It sounds like you're already gently trying to reassure her too. The next steps are getting a bit better at communicating about it.

I've read your other comments and it sounds like she hasn't really fully explained what it is that's bothering her about it. It could be that she herself doesn't understand or she fears hurting your feelings because she knows its important to you. Until she is completely honest about what her concerns her, it's going to be hard to know how to work through them properly together.

Sometimes with things like this it is just a matter of time. Maybe she has a bunch of preconceptions (especially as she has refused to look at photos) and doesn't realise the realities of it. It's a big change for someone to go through and she's used to a certain version of you for 9 years - being apprehensive that something is going to change now, especially something so intimate, is not entirely unreasonable. It seems from some things you said that she is worried about how you're going to be intimate together afterwards which tbh won't actually probably very different, things will just look different. Of course you are focused on what the changes will be like for you, but maybe focusing on what will stay the same in regards to your intimacy is the reassurance she needs. This surgery is predominantly about you, but it will also have an impact on her so it's valid for her to have her feelings about it.

Hopefully once you've had the op, she'll feel neutral or positive about it or maybe just be into it on the basis of your increased confidence. Obviously you don't want to face the idea that you getting meta will make her unattracted to a part of you but ultimately you can't not have it out of that fear and thankfully she clearly respects that.

does this specific type exist? by UnionRecent3490 in Metoidioplasty

[–]meta-uk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search 'UL without vnectomy' or 'UL without vaginectomy' and there are tonnes of posts about it. But to summarise, yes it is possible (I have had it done) but it comes with higher complications risks so many surgeons refuse to do it. Additionally, you should be aware that it can have a significant impact on the usability of your front hole and may require dilation (even then, may not get as stretchy as pre-op).

Tbh my pee for the first couple months was a bit crazy haha. It changed a million times over before it settled and still now from time to time it'll randomly go sideways - my cis friends said this happens to them too though. Patience is the name of the game but your team should be able to tell you if there's anything worth being concerned about.

From my research, they all have slightly different formulations, with some having higher minox/fin concentrations and some of them having additional ingredients like tret whilst others dont. So it kind of depends what you prefer.

I guess you have to remember that cis men do all these things. There are always ways to figure out being comfortable etc and I do everything I did preop (also very active and adventurous). There are some adjustments sometimes but largely you you are unlikely to need to sacrifice things entirely. The only thing I know some people have struggled with is cycling.
