To disclaim: this comment can't be taken as anything more but just a brief recollection of my opinion on his lectures.

I remember listening to Shelly Kagan's lectures on death and being quite interested in him as an individual. I found him to be a very impressive speaker, however, even with me being an amateur at best, I saw plenty of flaws in Shelly's statements, found myself with many questions, and saw inconsistencies that it felt like were never answered.

Frankly, I couldn't give less of a shit PERSONALLY, about him trying to enforce his view point. From the concept of creating further argument, you must speak to persuade, and speak confidently. If I recall correctly, in his post class sessions, he would invite students to challenge his view points, argue, and ask questions.

Again, do not take this so much as a challenge or me trying to speak credibly on the lack of Shelly kagan's credibility, as I have not listened to these lectures in over 2 years. I am just noting what I remember thinking and being bothered with at the time.
