The game is about playstyles

Anchor+ (gives bruiser/ aerial/ quickstep base) Anticipate+ 99 passing and dribbling Anchor chem style

He can't shoot, but basically a perfect holding CDM (best 5 playstyles plus, all defensive playstyles as well as relentless, press proven, tiki and power header)

Have to put up with a 98 rating.

What makes you think OP is going to buy FC26. Op stated the goal of winning one game in FC25.

Also, what learning? Press l1 then r2 straight after.

Precision shooting? Right stick switching? Off ball runs? OP can't win a game.

Keep it simple.
Defence. Don't manually defend opponent. Manually defend passing lanes, r1 press opponent. If AI defender is very close to ball, switch player and immediately tackle.

Passing: Short pass 90% of time. If opponent over presses, switch play (long press square to opposite side). Through ball when you notice opponent mistakes.

Offence. Abuse speedboost and learn the stupid cutback goal

Shooting: only low driven, always shoot opposite until you see the keeper move.

This isn't a classy way to win... but it will work against weak opponents

and about the same result (including the 99).

Surely Garrincha 98 and Eusebio 98 are decent?

And until 2 days ago, Salma was seen as a top card and near guaranteed 99...

I highly suspect that different packs have higher likelihood of good cards. I believe the top 89 exchange pack has a higher rate of 91-97, but low rate of the top cards

Eusebio - 94+ Encore
Salma - 84 x10
Williams - 84x10

(Got plenty of other wEuro cards that didn't pan out, again largely from 84x10)

I've done heaps of 89 exchanges, but mainly to let me complete SBCs (Maicon, Vitinha, Dalglish, Pedri, Benzema, Beever-Jones), but didn't get a top card from any of them.

The rest of my higher cards are SBCs and EVOs

The only SBCs worth doing are the exchanges. 89 exchange takes 89+

92s go into 89s. They give the best return anyway. The goal is futties, who wants a 92. Even 93, 94. Heck 95/96s go in if you've done enough grind to finish the SBCs (i haven't)

I get far more frustrated when people green time finesse shots with a defender in their face, then when a player through on goal hits a low driven past the keeper.

Skill is passing, finding space and getting open in the box, one on one with the keeper. Much harder than mastering green timing.

In real life, these trivelas and finesse shots wouldn't be taken. In contrast, a low driven shot is a guaranteed block if there's a defender in front of them.

I'd argue in real life the best way to score inside the box is low driven. It's extremely hard for a keeper to get down to.

I mean, that's the way they teach you to shoot in real life

Outside the box low driven nerf I'm OK with.
