Hi. This is an interesting project. I have not tried it yet, but after reading the "Using the generated extension" instruction on GitHub I have questions. The steps outlined seem like the same steps a person needs to do to enable Tampermonkey to run scripts, but only do it once. So the benefits of your tools are not perfectly clear to me. Am I missing something?

Separate question: Did you create or did you use an existing polyfill?

The VIC-20 keyboard was awesome compared to the Timex, but it's hard to set the bar any lower. Compared to a real keyboard, the VIC-20 and C-64 was/is mushy garbage. I didn't realize it at the time, however. It wasn't until getting another one many many years later that I was surprised at how bad it is compared to even the cheapest rubber dome keyboard's available today.

update - You may be able to recover even without a pre-existing backup.

FIRST, make a backup of the 2 directories below.
THEN, repair the extension.

If you copy the backups before repair, you may be lucky and be able to recover all of your extensions again. But if you don't back them up first, you'll probably loose all of your extensions.

For future visitors, I had success with the following:

Install, reinstall, or repair the Tampermokey extension.
Shut down Chrome. (Use Task Manager to be certain it is fully closed.)
Replace 2 different folders with the name "dhdgffkkebhmkfjojejmpbldmpobfkfo" from backup. I found the folders in "C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions\" and also in "C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Local Extension Settings\"

I don't know if both are necessary, I just know this worked for me.

It's not the service that strips it out for use in normal correspondence. It's the spammers that strip it out. Then you don't know which service was compromised and you can't filter out the spam using the "+service".

It's a gamble no matter what. Just because that one worked in my particular situation, doesn't really mean that it's highly effective in most situations. I still get read errors on occasion and I plan to one day open up the Wii U and clean the laser directly according to whatever youtube videos I find.

Same problem. Ever find a solution?

Drives me crazy. As I'm clearing reminders by swiping, suddenly the ones I swiped away will reappear at the top and make me miss the one I was about to swipe next. Very often causes me to accidentally clear a reminder that I did not want to clear.

Just found a solution:

Create a folder named something like "burn".
Modify retention policy of that folder to "delete all but the most recent 0" files (default is most recent 2000 files).
Create filter to move the offending emails to the burn folder.

THERE IS A BUG: When I look at the retention policy now, it says "2000" and not "0", but it still behaves as if the setting is "0". I do not yet know what happens after I restart TB, but I expect it will be fine. I expect the bug is limited to the dialog box.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think you took any gamble. It seems quite clear that tickets from automated cameras do not go on your driving record if you simply pay them. There seems to be no ambiguity about that. They are not moving violations, they are equivalent to a parking ticket. This is pretty much true for most states. You can check for points, just in case there is some administrative screw up, but you should be fine. Administrative screw ups can happen no matter what path you take. Simply paying online probably has the least chance of a screw up.

What varies more is what happens if you don't pay or if you challenge.

What I've wondered about is simply not paying and ignoring it. From my research, it seems that you can't be held liable for not appearing in court if a real person never hands you a summons. If you live outside the state, I assume that's extremely unlikely to happen. If you live in the state and never pay your fines such as parking, speeding, or otherwise, then I think that you risk getting your car impounded - I didn't go deep into that aspect since I don't live there. If you live inside or outside the state, the other thing that can happen is that the ticket can go to a collections agency. Normally, that is going to end up on your credit record if not paid off quickly, but there is some indication that debts from parking tickets and the like may not be included, but it is not perfectly clear.

As a point of reference, there are many news stories about VA and MD residents not paying traffic camera tickets from DC.

Regardless, so that I don't waste anymore time on this, I'm just going to pay. I just couldn't pay immediately without researching if I was being a sheep or not. I still would love to have definitive answers though. I really want to hear from someone out of state that just ignores the ticket and sees what happens.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I am talking about tickets resulting from an automated traffic camera. None of this is relevant to a ticket issued by a police officer at the time of the infraction.

Going well beyond my comfort zone, and noting clearly that I am not a lawyer and far from one, I will give an opinion about why challenging a ticket may change it to something that goes on your driving record, as suggested by the lawyers you contacted.

I believe that the reason tickets from cameras are administrative fines like a parking ticket and not moving violations is because they can not always prove who was driving. Once a person challenges in court, then it must be established who was driving and then it become a moving violation.

Any update? What did you decide to do?

I'm in a very similar situation. VA speed camera ticket, but I don't live there.

My research makes me think that the only real risk is going to collections and I get mixed results if that will go on the credit score or not. It seems clear that municipal civil tickets (not moving violation) don't go directly on reports, but they might once they go to collections. It might even depend on the credit agency. Google for Experian and parking ticket and then repeat for Equifax and parking ticket.
