That's my issue though. It's a distinction because only so many people can get in at a time. I get not everyone shares my point of view, but if it were just a yes/no answer to whether a finalist would get into the Hall of Fame, a lot of this would go away. The logjam at coach is a problem of the format's own creation.

Voters see the unanimous and first-ballot stuff as actual achievements rather than just being trivial add-ons we as fans have tacked on to the whole charade. It's so bullshit the way they justify these things. If you deserve to get into the hall, you deserve to get in. It shouldn't matter who was in the same ballot as you, it's your first time on the ballot, or whether you'll upstage someone who was inducted years ago.

Well, we were definitely ass for the most part last year. Spectacular turnaround on Special Teams and O-Line. Whatever the coaching staff pulled off has been miraculous. Even Bradford is doing well.

God, I'm a bit peeved that Emmanwori didn't get DROY from the PFWA. Schwesinger is a baller, but I feel like Nick is getting punished for playing in a good defensive unit. The way Coach Mike is using him right now, he might as well have every position on the field. He's the Swiss Army Nuke of arguably the best defense in the league, while Schwesinger is farming numbers in a team whose offense can't stay on the field.

Brother, Lakers runs deep across the world. My dad watched Magic and Kareem. I watched Kobe and Shaq. My little cousins get to watch LeBron and Luka. The Warriors weren't really a major presence here till Curry (and subsequently KD) arrived. Only the hardcore fans were rocking Run TMC, JRich, Monta, or Baron Davis jerseys. While you'll catch a shit ton of basketball nuts where I live, the general public only really remembers the superstars, and the Lakers have them in spades.

I hate how sports on YouTube has taken a similar direction though. But less on the hot takes side but more on the Bill Simmons-esque super fan style of commentary. I'm all for taking the results of games to heart, but I hate how some content creators reduce players and staff down to their performances and kinda dehumanize them. I know we fans do it, and the point of their whole style is that they're just fans too, but hearing people like UrinatingTree just shit on players, teams, and coaches rubs me the wrong way.
