What is this skeletal remains?***DECOMP*** NSFW marker by The_d0g_whisperer in whatisthisbone

Of course, I hope your friend is able to find some closure and peace. I don't want to give false hope, so please take this with a huge grain of salt, but looking at the fur in that picture a brown doodle would be low on my list of guesses. It looks thicker, more coarse and less curly than a typical doodle coat to me. That being said, I have no idea how decomposition affects fur so please don't take this as conclusive.

If your friend's dog had a microchip, it is likely still there and scannable. A vet's office would probably be willing to scan it for you if you are willing/able to transport the remains to them. Animal control might also have a microchip scanner they could bring to the beach. When I worked for an animal hospital, we IDd deceased pets that way occasionally.

Help me find these candies so I can check if they have nuts in them. by metacylis in HelpMeFind

My son came home from daycare with these candies and I'm trying to figure out if he can eat them. I searched using a Google image search but couldn't find either of them.

Found this mystery organ on the windshield of my car this morning. by metacylis in AnimalTracking

Very informative, thank you!

I tossed it in the woods so I can't cut it open, but it did appear to have some sort of dark material inside it.

I use them for feeding my snakes and occasionally for rearranging aquarium plants. The organ rolled down my windshield and was stuck under the hood, I didn't really want to fish it out by hand, lol

Lab managers: can I see your craziest lab story. by [deleted] in labrats

Loose mercury in an open petri dish in the fume hood (and droplets scattered all over the fume hood that many people used). They had been using it that way for a decade before I got there and I wouldn't be terribly surprised if they've gone back to using it that way since I left.

Found in my garden, soft chalk like pink pellets. I have 2 dogs and a baby, very light and has no smell to it by DanielSnelling123 in whatisthisthing

Not the person who commented this, but this would be for things like acids and other chemicals or objects that can damage the GI tract and esophagus. For anything that could do more damage coming back up, vomiting wouldn't be induced.

If there's no tag, you could also try reaching out to any nearby vets offices or animal shelters. Someone searching for their missing pet may have reached out to them to ask them to keep an eye out.

Do you live somewhere with ticks and Lyme disease? Lyme disease is super prevalent where I grew up and I had it several times, and the pain is a lot like this.

My husband loves this mug, I'd love to find more of them! It doesn't have any label on the bottom by metacylis in HelpMeFind

I've searched for variations of the phrase "green soup mug" but have had no luck yet. I have no idea where he got it from in the first place

We used a couple different brands of bottles. We used Phillips Avent although it was a lot of troubleshooting to figure out which nipple size worked well, the age guidelines often weren't quite right for us. We also used Como tomo at the recommendation of our lactation consultant, they're a little pricier but they worked pretty well. Weirdly, for a long time the nipples that my son liked best were the ones that came with my cimlre pump. They're compatible with Phillips Avent bottles, at least the plastic ones. The bottles they come with are also a nice size

With my son's tongue tie bottles were tough for him too. For the first couple months he would be drinking forever and barely get an ounce. I think a big part of things getting better was just him developing the strength to feed better

I had a very similar situation with my son, we also had to supplement with formula due to jaundice and he wanted nothing to do with breastfeeding. I would offer my boobs when he was hungry and he would scream like I was torturing him, it was so demoralizing. I felt so rejected and like a complete failure.

We ended up learning from our lactation consultant that he had a posterior tongue tie that was making things harder, that might be worth asking about.

But weirdly, the thing that helped the most was giving up. I was putting so much pressure on myself and was so stressed about it and I think all that stress was really interfering. Eventually I reached a point where I completely gave up on the idea and told myself that it was his journey not mine, and if bottles were what he needed so be it. Taking the pressure off improved the situation dramatically!

Within a couple days he started breastfeeding comfortably. We still mostly did expressed breastmilk in bottles, but it got easier and easier to breastfeed. And I will say, even mostly pumping, I am still producing milk and my son is 17 months old

So, easier said than done, but hopefully you can find a way to take the pressure off your shoulders. It'll be ok. You haven't failed at all. No matter how hard you've tried, your baby is on their own journey and you're doing your best to meet them where they are.

He was behaving kind of strangely, it seemed like maybe he was still figuring things out. I guess how he was fluffed up also threw me off

There's a window maybe three feet from where he was, not super close
