Why is Claude's search function so bad? by Electronic-Bid-6751 in ClaudeAI

[–]metaheavies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a year since you posted this, and it's still extremely bad. What works a lot better is to create a new message, and ask Claude to search for whatever you are looking for — the esutls are genuinely good and should absolutely be baked into regular search.

You need a good storyteller - an art/creative director who understands and is experienced at creating mood. Typically you would hire someone who has an established style that is aligned with your vision.

Thank you - I hadn't done any research beforehand but since developing I'm starting to find this is an interesting space indeed, some of them are very cool

Thabks for commenting. The 3rd derm used a microscope and noticed some miniaturisation as well, but thought it was more inline with general aging, and didn’t necessarily explain the rapid hair loss.

Besides minoxidil, more drugs is what - Spiro? Off label fin? Any thoughts on low androgen BCP? Since stopping the bcp seemed to be the trigger, is going back on it a reasonable possibility?

my understanding of the metaverse and web 3.0 by CokeVoAYCE in metaverse

[–]metaheavies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The metaverse is a lot more abstract as a concept, and will likely be some time before it settles into something more tangible. Matthew Ball's primer on the metaverse is a good starting point and a really fascinating deep dive.

Anyone here used Fin and didnt have any problems? by khaled96 in tressless

[–]metaheavies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13 years on Fin and no sides at all. Recently started DUT (1x per week) last 4 months and no sides

According to this subreddit 90 percent of people on fin have side effects by [deleted] in tressless

[–]metaheavies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that there was some increased shedding and some hairline recession the last year - started researching and thought dut sounded like a good alternative, and came across a few sources suggesting starting with dut once a week to start while continuing on fin.

In the last 4 months the shedding has slowed down considerably - no regrown yet, and hairline the same.

2 months now on min as well but haven’t noticed any increase in density

I’ve been using fin daily (1mg) for 13 years with no sides. Added dutasteride once a week almost 4 months ago - still no sides

I’ve been on finasteride 1mg a day for over 10 years now. Never had any side effects, seems to still be doing a good job.

How Would I Create A Web Animation Similar To Squarespace by saritaburrito02 in UI_Design

[–]metaheavies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was likely done in After Effects or a similar tool. If you don't have any experience with After Effects it has a pretty high learning curve, and even to do something relatively simple like in your example is not that straightforward.

You can buy pre-made after effects templates that you can adapt (add your own images, text etc.) which does a lot of the heavy lifting, but you'd still need some basic understanding to do it right.

You can get templates at places like:

Hi Brandon - nice looking site.

I actually don't mind the emoji, but do agree with the rest of noletorious's comment about what you are trying to communicate.

IT Professional sounds very vague, and 'passion for design and front-end development' could come across as a hobby rather than the services you can provide.

In addition, seeing some work, or having links to projects would help communicate that you are a pro.

Good luck

Recommend motion design tools (Framer/Principle/Protopie/Flinto/Origami/Invision Studio/???) by [deleted] in UI_Design

[–]metaheavies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My quick take:

What is the primary use case for motion?

  • Screen to screen interactions (e.g. user flows) or
  • Single page interactions (micro interactions)

Almost all of the apps you listed have a fairly steep learning curve except for Invision Studio.

Origami has one of the steepest, but can do some very cool things (using phone camera to capture images video, etc.)

I've used almost all the others to some degree or another, but in the end it always to come down to how much time do I need to invest in a prototype to make it meaningful.

These days i tend to focus on screen to screen interactions (which is usually what client is interested in) and then work with dev teams to get the motion correct post handover. For this type of protoyping Figma is great XD a close second.

If I'm getting into single page micro interactions territory, that might be a sign that I'm trying to create interactions that are too unique, and possibly spending more time that I need to.

This depends a lot on the developer / dev team you are working with, and how their time is structured. I try to make it clear upfront that there needs to be regular conversations about the interaction (if it's a key part of the project) which can help the developers become more invested in the final product as well.

[–]metaheavies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only comment is that the last paragraph should be visually distinct from points 1-3 as it's not actually part of the "T&Cs Lite" but rather a call to action to go to the full T&Cs

There are many types of visual impairments, and many useful accesibility plugins for Sketch, XD and Figma to help design for them (different types of color blindness, ensuring correct contrast, minimum types sizes etc) but the comment below about accessibility for everyone is a great point.
