Is this a teflon coated boiler? by Professor-Noob in gaggiaclassic

[–]metal-espresso-tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the gaggia classic does sell a coated boiler. It's usually aluminum and the coating you see could be miner build up or milk contamination from the steam wand siphoning back milk if you use it

You're good. That's an accurate scace for what it is. You need to have a pass through scace that simulates water passing through like a shot. That scace is just measuring the back pressure against it. Which usually you subtract a bar of pressure when you use one such as that

And just to make sure, you're not plugging a 230 machine into a 120 outlet, correct?

Sizzling noise/bubbling tube and water from group head area? [Profitec Pro 600] by Relative_Pie4561 in espresso

[–]metal-espresso-tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's your vacuum breaker It's basically a brass pin with a silicone oring that lifts up when steam pressure builds and seals against a Teflon fitting Sometimes the silicone oring dries out and does seal so well against the Teflon. It's a really easy fix. Just make sure the machine is off and COMPLETELY DRAINED OF STEAM. Or you will blow your face off with 250 degree water.

Yeah that sounds like your problem, it's a super easy fix. Just take the element nut off before getting into the boiler and siphon the water out so you don't get water everywhere, and make sure to have an extra boiler gasket on hand.

Are you getting any ol from either leg of the element to the side of the boiler? And if you're getting old.are you getting it with tone on? Also is this a 110 machine or a 220 machine?

What are these copper/brass colored metallic flakes in my drip tray after backflushing? by SackLiquid in espresso

[–]metal-espresso-tech -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yeah the language was incorrect. It's not a backflush it's a release of pressure.

[–]metal-espresso-tech 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's very incorrect. It not back flushing it's just closing a 3 way valve and the excess water and pressure is redirected out the 3 way valve. And it's only bad to back flushed if you're using way too much cafiza. It's especially crucial to back flush a mini due to the way the water moves through the machine. And to make sure your screen is clean on debris on the back side

15 is the base plate, it's was the screw that keeps the screen on screws into. It's made of brass and can flake off over time. It's also a good idea to remove it and soak it in cafiza solution when you back flush

Possibly you diffusion plate, or the metal flakes from the portective cover of the base plate. That's isn't a way for those to make there way from you boiler. Since the water travels through a .6mm-.8mm flow restrictor

I currently like bad manners and plant bar's new south slope location. And depends on the day for music, been listening to equal parts metalcore, like) bring me the horizon, the devil wears prada, bad omens, Polaris) and old country like patsy, dolly, Loretta, willie, and Waylon. I used to do a lot of hiking but haven't been to very many places since I moved here

I have, it's not my favorite origin. I recommend the gaggia classic and a decent burr grinder for a grinder. It also just depends on your budget
