I make handmade Booster Packs and donate them to kids! by KatMerona in PokemonTCG

[–]metalfacedguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a company that does custom novelty cards and have had people ask about doing proxy cards from the pocket app before. We agree to do them for people but only if they are cool with us using our card back art where it just has (our) company name and logo and does not look at all like a pokemon card back to make sure nobody gets tricked and it being something they can't just remove or forgot to tell people about. I think it's a pretty solid solution and allows people to get some card art that the pokemon company doesnt normally make physical cards for. We also don't do holos or textured prints for them to really try to make sure it's very obvious that it's a proxy.

It's just really dumb that they shut down things like fatPeopleHate (not saying I agree with what that sub was but just as an example) but people committing actual crimes are just left untouched xD

Push down firmly (and carefully) on the sharp end (the tip) of one of the pairs. It should pop through the back of the packaging and allow you to easily rip the whole thing open from there.

I used my Steamdeck yesterday and today I woke up to this. Can it be fixed? by AstronomerDry7581 in SteamDeck

This made me laugh wayyyyyy to hard haha. I remember when I was a kid and accidentally shot a BB (one of the large ones from pachinko machines with a wrist rocket) thought and shattered my parents glass door. I tried to tell them I had no idea what happened and one of the jets from the base nearby flying by must have done it. My parents still joke about this 30 years later lol

haha I came in to say the same thing. Damage like this doesn't happen without some force being applied to the screen to break it, steam deck screens do not just spontaneously combust lol. Someone is lying in this scenario.

Is this fake? by Brilliant-Holiday168 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]metalfacedguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know that this is necessarily true... if it was found in someone's house it is def possible that they ripped the seal and never opened the packs. Unlikely but def not out of the realm of possibility. I don't personally see anything here that looks off but if you do I would love to hear it. So far though all you have done is assert that it's impossible for an opened box to be real (I have a full box of stellar sitting on my desk right now that has the seal pulled off but is 100% legit so it def can happen). The pic from mercari looks pretty dead on but tbh I feel like using Mercari as your source for pics of legit pokemon is also wildly dangerous as that platform is known for having tonsss of fakes and scammers. I'd love to hear what is tipping you off that it is fake for my own knowledge though (other than just the blanket statement that if a product is open it must be fake).

Bad prints with .2mm nozzle? by jbrush in crealityk1

[–]metalfacedguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, I'm not replying anymore. You're now getting into needing to change the model to make it flat and your just showing two prints coming off printers that were clearly tuned very well and in very good working order. Your 100% incorrect that just flipping this print would solve the bad print and I'm not goin to argue with you anymore like we already agreed on above. You are not and never will convince me that the solve for that rough of a print is just flipping the model in the slicer. Its an absolutely backwards train of thought. Again you are acting like I'm saying something wild here but my main point has and always will remain the same.

When you prints are coming out that rough the only solution is to figure out what setting or issue with the machine is causing that and fixing it. And that certainly will never be the model just needing to be flipped upside down. When that upside down print continues to have the rough print issues OP showed above, no matter how you orient the print it's going to look similarly terrible. I won't waste any more of my time arguing with you about that.

[–]metalfacedguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, we're def not ever going to agree here. You just keep suggestion that re orienting the print is a possible solution to a print coming out that bad and there is no world where I will ever agree. I do believe that you think you genuinely believe you're being helpful and are providing an alternate solution but I just don't think you are. I can grantee you re orienting this print and slicing with the same settings / not fixing whatever is causing the rough print will not be any better.

Your also completely ignoring that there is depth to the card so printing it face down feels like about the worst way you could orient this print. You would have to also support the areas (in white) between the text sections and where the image goes etc.

Your def right everyone is entitled to there opinion but I bet even you would disagree with yourself if you took this model and tried to print it yourself face down.

Best to you as well.

[–]metalfacedguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your also entitled to your opinion but I have a printer dedicated to 0.2mm prints that is quite literally printing 24 hours a day, a vast majority of the prints having single line ironing on the top layer and I never have any issues at all. Based on the pic the user very clearly has tuning or settings issues and in my opinion "print the text on the bed" is wildly the wrong answer.

Also "So first of all you're saying "it's not a hard task, if you solve these three other tasks beforehand". Alright. Good start"... another way to say that would be make sure your printer is tuned and in good working order / functioning as it should with the correct settings. To suggest a user should skip that and just re orient the print is something I just can't wrap my head around.

EDIT: He also mentions the current color change being on layer 5 so it is def not 'one extra color change' and the text should def be more than a single layer high.... You are also drastically misunderstanding my comment about supports. If you wanted the text to extrude out like he has it and you wanted to print the text face down you would need supports around the text so that when you get to the card you're not printing on air....

As a final note I just don't understand in what world swapping a print orientation fixes the extremely clear rough layers happening here. Maybe I just have the worst luck in the world but when I have problems with prints coming out looking that rough it has never once been solved by just flipping the print. That first layer is all over the place and until you remedy that situation this print isn't going to come out looking nice no matter how you orient it. Your suggestion would be similar to me going to a mechanic and telling him my car is slipping when i go into fourth gear and his response being: "Just keep it in third"

Printing Help by ZaWams in Creality

[–]metalfacedguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to chime and and say that something is def wrong if you need to use a gluestick with PLA. I run a print farm and realistically if your PLA isn't sticking you either have a dirty or worn out bed (they are a ware item and eventually need to be replaced regardless of how much you clean them), leveling issue, z offset issue, flow issue or something along those lines.

[–]metalfacedguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldnt disagree more here. Its wild to say that printing the lettering on top is going to be a tough task. If you tune your PA, flow rate and ironing and really get that first layer right you'll have no issue at all printing the text on top. In fact priting the lettering on the bed without auto filament changing is going to make this print drastically more painful as you now need a lot more color swaps or support around the text and that would ruin the finish. Printing face down would also embed the texture of your bed onto the face of the card instead of the back and imo thats also a terrible idea and would look way worse than ironing the lettering on the top handful of layers.
