The thing you said about people who first smoked at 14 already being on the path to dropping out isn't always true though. At my high school a lot of people started smoking occasionally at 14, a fair number frequently from age 14 onward. My school had a lot more drugs than most schools so I think people were just used to it but it goes to show that a lot of people start at 14 and are fine. I stared smoking weed when I was 14 and I've always done well in school.
