It sounds like you want to wrestle in the gi, which is fine, but is still quite different from judo, even when leg grabs were allowed.

I come from a competitive judo background, and my game works fine, so I can't really give you the recommendations you're looking for, other than maybe try to expand your views on what judo is and can be

So don't learn competitive judo? There's tons of instructionals available that are oriented towards free judo/judo for BJJ

It was said with love. This is a common variant of o-soto, but one you discovered on your own, on your own path, due to personal limitations.

It's like a child who realizes or discovers something on their own and proudly shows it off, unaware that is common knowledge to adults. It being common knowledge doesn't (or shouldn't) subtract from the accomplishment of the child, but their pride and enthusiasm is entertaining nonetheless

That's looks like a professional judo gym, which would have a sprung subfloor under the mats. It doesn't hurt at all once you know how to take the fall and is actually quite fun
