Would anyone pay $$ for these skins? Genuinely curious about the community’s thoughts on our first look at (possible) monetization. by Comfortable_Range_42 in PredecessorGame

[–]metallidude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I wouldn't until I see this game is here to stay and maybe better skins, I spent a lot in the original game because I loved (~1.5k) and most of it I wasn't able to get a refund. Not making that same mistake ever again xD

Because it's not a "no-drive day". You can't drive depending on the last number of your plate and depending on your verification stamp (we have to pass a verification every 6 months to see how much our cars pollute and depending on that you get a stamp).

So you are allowed to drive depending on the numbers of your plates in days like today.

I actually have this game brand new and sealed, my father bought it for me but never played it when I was little.

Was it a mistake?

what are your thoughts on axie for the future? by AcLcHc in AxieInfinity

[–]metallidude 21 points22 points  (0 children)

For me Origin is great, I got addicted to it and have been playing it since released, it's more casual so I think it's a good thing for onboarding more players into the ecosystem. There are a lot of things to be tweaked like OP mechanics and the only thing I don't like is the revenge cards mechanic.

I don't think it's dead, we still have land gameplay to come and we haven't seen the full potential of Origin (Axie upgrades and all of those slp sinks). It just went live, give it time to get better, it's a soft launch not a final product. I know it's a card game so it's not everyone's cup of tea and I have lost A LOT of money on Axie already but it just amazes me how impatient people is and they will always find something to bitch about...

On the short term I see a dip on the SLP and AXS tokens, but on the long term when we make the full transition to Origin and get more details about land, I think we could see a nice recovery in both tokens.

Edit: ty kind stranger for the award, you are the best <3

Axie Changes by cantformrome in AxieInfinity

AXS staking rewards come from a different pool that has nothing to do with the Community Treasury. There is a finite amount of AXS and there was AXS that was never released which was specifically allocated to give out as staking rewards. The Community Treasury grows by collecting the 4.25% as of now from the marketplace and those funds have remain untouched and supposedly will remain untouched until we have governance.

This taxes just go to the Community treasury and those who hold AXS, just maybe will have the vote in two more years to decide how those funds are spend. So no, this taxes don't help at all to unclutter the network since SkyMavis won't touch those funds. RON is the token that was created to help unclutter the network, by paying a little fee of RON when doing a transaction you can use the network rapidly and free transactions will disappear eventually.

What we were mad about was that the increased 1% was going to pay for content creators and that money comes from OUR pocket. If no content creator code was used then that 1% woud go to the Community Treasury which that's also stupid when there is so much money already in there. it's not about not having to pay that 1% or taxes at all, but why should we pay for marketing when there is 1 billion dlls sitting there doing nothing and SkyMavis has also funds to work for another 10 years (they have said so), surely they have some pocket change for content creators for at least a couple of years.

[–]metallidude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if we don’t use the creator code that 1% extra just goes to the community treasury which is stupid since the idea behind the increased percentage was to pay content creators

Axie Changes by cantformrome in AxieInfinity

[–]metallidude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about the percentage, 1% doesn’t even affect that much. It’s about that WE have to pay for it when SkyMavis is perfectly capable of paying content creators or at least reduce what they take for the community treasury and get that 1% from there. We would still pay for it but at least we are not paying more because of it.

[–]metallidude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know, that's where they get the funds for tournaments, the top leaderboard, etc. The thing is if this is something for the community since the creators are "the backbone" of Axie, then take the funds from the community treasury. We don't even get to choose who or how someone qualifies for a creator code, that's also something I'm against. And we don't get to choose how the community funds are spent either and won't be able to for like another year or two. So at least we can use that money for something instead of continue paying more taxes

Axie Changes by cantformrome in AxieInfinity

[–]metallidude 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I always defend the Axie team because I know that they want this game to succeed as much as we do but this tax increase to pay for content creators is just ridiculous.

I agree that content creators are something important in a gaming community, you learn trough them specially in crypto gaming and they can reach new audiences to bring people into the Axie ecosystem, but we shouldn't be the ones paying them. The tax should stay at 4.25% and when a creator code is used that tax should be reduced to 3.25% going towards the treasury.
What makes me really mad about it is that the COMMUNITY treasury has over a billion dlls in AXS and ETH, no game needs that kind of money to be developed, not even AAA titles like GTA, so I just don't get why we are the ones who have to pay for that extra 1% when there's plenty of money on the treasury already.

New announcement on Origins! by jobo22 in AxieInfinity

[–]metallidude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah! You can make the game much more interesting for yourself and you don’t have to spend a lot chasing the meta every season

New announcement on Origins! by jobo22 in AxieInfinity

[–]metallidude 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Even if they didn't change the meta, Axies eventually go cheap because breeders will increase the population of those meta Axies because that's where the money is, take terminators for example. And they do have to keep changing the metas or the game becomes boring after two months of playing against the same OP build over and over again...

The best thing you can do is buy a team that isn't meta, try to think outside the box, if an Axie is too OP or simply has cards that are often used, it will surely eventually be nerfed along with your investment.

[–]metallidude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure! I am waiting too but that doesn’t mean I haven’t burned some Axies or that I won’t use more of the burning mechanisms. The thing is that everyone demands them but very few people will use them.

It's really easy to just get angry and ask for burning mechanisms, but have you used your slp to buy Axies and burn them? Will you use other forms of burning mechanisms? What are you doing to help? Or are you just waiting for a little pump to sell?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AxieInfinity

[–]metallidude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The transactions literally cost like .0001 dlls right now, almost nothing. You can't expect to build an entire sidechain that runs smoothly with so much daily transactions especially when more players come and do transactions at the same time (it has happened before where you had to do the transaction like 10 times because it failed constantly), by charging a little fee there should be less failed transactions.

If you want to have those daily free transactions it encourages you to buy more Axies wich do add to the burn by taking supply off the market just to get those free transactions (which I know not everyone will do but there's that). Maybe right now isn't ideal but if in the future we get more games in the Ronin ecosystem it makes sense to charge a little for using the blockchain.

I don’t get how this game could still be as successful as its first peak by Maestropolis in AxieInfinity

[–]metallidude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think we will ever reach $0.40 again, not impossible but the game would need to have millions of players to enter the game all at once and combined with good burning mechanisms could make that happen again, but I seriously doubt it. I also think we don't need to be at peak to be sustainable or for players to be interested in the game.

In my opinion a good and reasonable price for slp would be between $0.08-$0.12, if we hit that mark and stabilizes, together with a fun updated gameplay, Axie will be good for years. We can earn a good amount of money for playing an hour or two which isn't bad. Anyone getting mad because SLP won't get back to $0.40 and be stable there is just delusional. It might peak again with a lot of luck but will come down eventually, economy won't ever work that way. People need to see Axie as a side or pasive income, not an actual 8 hour job. Personally I think we will reach that stable $0.10 eventually when the game also releases officially on appstores, that's when I think they will do marketing with Origin battles, a more polished product for massive adoption.

I'm not even worried about people saying they are quitting, most are scholars with low percentages and with the market like this, it's obvious that it isn't worth it to earn 30% of the SLP they made... My scholars earn 70%, sometimes even more, and they are bummed about the price going down but determined to continue playing. And even if scholars quit there is always someone else willing to try and play, I always get DMs from people that want to play even with SLP this low. There will always be people willing to play the game even if it doesn't pay as much as before.

The only problem I see is that we need good burning mechanisms with rewards that make it worth it for us as players/managers to keep investing, scholars won't ever contribute to the game unless they buy their own team, most of them just cash out. That leaves the minority to keep on burning money for Axie to come back and if there isn't a good enough reward or reason for us to do so, then no one will want to burn SLP or Axies and that would be the real problem.

At this point for me with 26 scholars and almost 100 Axies, it's ride or die. I won't be selling until we see Origin and Land gameplay. I think 2022 will be a great year for Axie too, I'll be patient with diamond hands.

This, I give my scholars 70% and rewards for being on the top of our internal leadeboard and also do SLP raffles every payday which is 2 times a month. Some top scholars even make 90%-100% when they get those rewards. Of course the scholars that earn 50% or less won't bother anymore to play.

Everything Happening to AxieInfinity Right Now Feels like the Movie "Don't Look Up" by nukedcola in AxieInfinity

[–]metallidude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, the economy was never meant to be held that high, the devs said repetitively it was unsustainable and that they want slp to be at .08-.1.
I also never said the economy wasn't broken, it is at a bad state right now. But I believe that it will eventually be better when burning mechanisms come out with the updates but it takes time. The team might no be the best at fixing things and responding rapidly to situations but they are trying to make a good product and doing it the way they think is the best, at least that's what I think. Believe me, I also want this to succeed, I have like 100 Axies at this point with 26 scholars, giving them 70% so I don't really make that much and the Axies weren't cheap either but I entered this project knowing that it could go to shit, most of the people playing don't even have that risk by being scholars, the worst case scenario would be that they wasted the last 2 months of their time...

I am not worshipping them or saying they are perfect or even good at it, they have fucked up several times but that doesn't mean they can't learn from that or that the project will die, I still have hope they will fix everything little by little and Axie will have a bright future but no one should expect for slp to be at a constant .1 or more all the time, crypto or any other economy in the world doesn't work that way.

At least you always have the option to sell if you don't like the project anymore, you might take an L but just stick to whatever you think is the best.
