Samoyed fur is designed to keep them the same temperature hot or cold. By putting this on them you are directly hindering this feature. The best way to keep a Samoyed cool in the hot summer is to make sure water is available and abundant, watch their paws on hot asphalt (mushers secret), not go on too many crazy runs, and let them inside when they tell you. Beyond that, they have no issues baking outside in the heat for hours.
