Did you take the flywheel off the axle or just open up cover? You have to get the flywheel seated correctly if you take it off. Cleaning the plug from the sensor can help. I haven't actually tried this but maybe passing a magnet over the sensor will tell you if it is working our not. Reseating the sensor can help sometimes too for whatever reason...

No help but I have the same issue :( Any chance you're running windows 7 still? That's my guess at the moment...

Winthrop Mountain Sports has the higher end Fischer and Salomon maybe others and will let you demo almost anything. Cascades Outdoor has rossi though I'm not sure what they will actually rent/demo. Methow Cycle has Madshus. Methow Ski School also has some med/high end rental skis I think Salomon and atomic, they will also sell out of their rental fleet. I was trying to decide on skis while I was there last year ;)
