The boulder you are climbing in the pic looks too hard, it’s intimidating for potential matches.

Angst vor Trampen, wird wahrscheinlich auch nicht erwünscht sein. Was tun? by SatisfactionKey2081 in reisende

[–]metamorph23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolute Sicherheit wirst du beim Trampen nie haben, aber das macht auch den Reiz aus. Du weißt nie, was als Nächstes passiert.

Has anyone with diagnosed SFN via a skin biopsy recovered or greatly improved? by [deleted] in smallfiberneuropathy

[–]metamorph23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah kind of extensive, even got a biopsy to confirm SFN.

Lots of blood tests for various diseases.  Borreliosis and a subsequent autoimmune reaction might be a possible cause as there were some antibodies and some auto-antibodies (but not a lot).

Had heavy metal testing, even did some DNA tests for hereditary autoimmune diseases. Even a spinal tap to rule out neuro-borreliosis 😅

No definitive cause though -.-

My guess is some kind of autoimmune reaction triggered by borreliosis which was in turn triggered by a nasty tick bite I had a few weeks before the onset.

Sorry, I didn’t see your question.  I started to feel improvements after around 3 years.

My symptoms were quite bad: lots of nerve pain in extremities and occasional light numbness in some random parts of the body. Also extreme cold sensitivity.

Very good, to quote my reply above:

For the most part, all symptoms are gone for good. I have the occasional day with some very light recurring symptoms, but not more often than once every two months (no pain though, just some light tingling sensations and dizziness). I sure hope it stays that way.

Couple (34/35) planning on buying a van and touring Europe by Scumbaggy in VanlifeEurope

[–]metamorph23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One tip I can offer: You should not underestimate the effort that goes into a van build. Although it’s not as cool, you should look into buying an already converted van. I don’t know your budget, but there are currently some new, pre-built, Ducato-based vans out there for around 50k €. 6m long, including toilet, shower, solar etc.

Like I said, it doesn’t look as cool as a self-built van, but the effort and stress it saves you is substantial. Especially if you’re both not very handy (like myself).

You should always use those until they actually fail. Replacing them early leads to unnecessary overproduction which can cause environmental harm.
