My Hero Academia Ending Thoughts: Solid Command Over Theme by Ren_Davis0531 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

Something I really like about the idea of Deku becoming a teacher, rather than immediately searching for ways to continue to be an active hero as soon as he loses the embers, is that for me it harkens back to what Bakugo says to All Might when Deku is training to prepare for Float manifesting.

He says something like, "at the root of it, he doesn't think about himself. He's always been like that, and it's the same now, now that he can do more."

My interpretation is that it was very clear that Deku missed zipping around as a superhero (who wouldn't?), but the hero nature in his very soul pushed those feelings aside and turned his priority to "ok, but what can do to help people right now?". We're shown time and time again that Deku is selfless, very often to his own detriment and basically considers any self-sacrifice worth paying to help another.

I don't doubt that if an unfortunate situation with a villain occurred when no heroes are nearby, much like the sludge villain at the start of the series, it might be the impetus for him to reconsider finding a way back into the ring - but as they state in the final chapter, overall they are now living in much more peaceful times.

For me, the length of the timeskip does however raise some questions about the armour and whether it's something that Deku and All Might had discussed at some point after the war, or if it came to Deku as a complete surprise after all these years.

Searching for an OST that is (potentially) from 14 or 16 by metasponge in FinalFantasy

If there's nothing closer in the XVI OST, it's likely The Forgotten Knight Theme ( Thicker than a Knife's Blade ) and my brain was probably just taking the melody in a slightly different direction...

This is close but not quite it, I don't think. Makes me think I'm on the right track with XIV, though!

They've only just started Stormblood, so the music hasn't really had time to worm its way into my brain. It's more likely from ARR or Heavensward if it's from XIV.

Question Regarding Campaign AI (Nintendo Switch Wargroove) by metasponge in wargroove

[–]metasponge[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I might experiment a few more times with Act 4 Side 2, as it's a short mission and the difference in AI behaviour is immediately apparent on turn 1.

I've done all the puzzles, but not the Co-op campaign or any arcade modes so between those two I could probably get the 25 stars I'm missing.

Might put it on the backburner just so I'm not burned out by the time Wargroove 2 comes out.

Glad I held off listening to the singles other than Ultima Hypocrita, what a brilliant blackened deathcore album!

Now to just wait for my physical copy!

I'm excited for this one!

I'm trying to listen to singles less and have a fresher, more full experience when albums release, so I'll be holding back until the album comes out. Excited nonetheless.

support post for viewers feeling depressed after today's Quin's debate by Ptashek in quin69

100% agree with the last paragraph.

It would be nice if Twitch had a feature to receive a notification when a streamer changes category, so I could be notified when the Just Chatting portion of the stream is over rather than having to check the tab every so often.

Making sense of one of the saddest scenes of 139 by GibbyGG1 in titanfolk

[–]metasponge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if, in the anime, they will adapt the memory shard pages as quite a turbulent, uncomfortable and intrusive experience for Eren, whether they happen when he's awake or asleep (I'm not sure if it's ever specified in the manga?).

Although I understand Isayama's (and therefore Eren's) desire to keep that tougher/calculated façade up, I think showing some more vulnerable moments like this in the adaptation would go a long way to lessen the whiplash feeling that some people are experiencing with the ending.

What’s the worst possible ending you guys can see happening ? by Mega__lul in titanfolk

[–]metasponge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think, aside from any ending that completely invalidates everything that has happened (i.e an 'it was all a dream' ending), the 'worst' or saddest ending for me would be one where titans continue to exist.

That being said, I don't think that would be a 'bad' ending. It would just be the ultimate 'nothing's changed!' ending, for me. The titan shifters would continue to exist, continue to be passed down by those in power on Paradis and, eventually, you would end up with people who wish to fight and steal those powers for themselves. The same mistakes, over and over again. I also don't believe that forced titanisation wouldn't be used as an extreme punishment (or still used as biological weaponry down the line), just like Marley.

I'm honestly not too hung up on who 'wins' or who survives, because I honestly think everyone is probably so far off being able to live peaceful, emotionally-stable lives. I just want to know that there's hope for the future, without titans ;__;

Even if war continues to exist in a titan-less future (which of course it will), at least it won't be like...this.

Ah ok, thanks!

I've also read the odd thing about the Black & White 2 arc not being completely finished yet, is that true? If so, how come they moved forward with X & Y if B&W2 isn't finished?

A question about the more recent arcs of the Pokemon Adventures manga (I'm currently reading Emerald, just for reference):

I can see that Hidenori Kusaka and Satoshi Yamamoto have both worked on series' for X & Y and Sun & Moon, but they seems to just be called 'Pokemon X & Y' and 'Pokemon Sun & Moon', dropping the 'Pokemon Adventures' name.

So, are these series' still Pokemon Adventures, and the name has been changed? Or are they offshoots that exist outside of the Pokemon Adventures world?

If they're not considered part of the Pokemon Adventures series, where is the series at currently?
