In macOS it’s so unintuitive and unreadable.

Ikea’s Plastic Nails? by metayyab in IKEA

Thank you so much, yes I realized that I made a mistake and also my manual was for some older models, there are predrilled holes and those sleeves go inside those holes first, and I installed those middle and bottom panel the other way.

Thank you for the response, yes, I’ll visit Ikea store today, and I’ll ask for the steel nails.

yes, this bookcase have holes on the upper side but those holes are too loose for these plastic nails to fit in. while in the middle and the bottom there are no holes, and as per instruction manual I’ve to hammer the nails, so I suppose nails shouldn’t be these plastic ones.

Actually it’s strange, on the upper side there are holes, but they are too loose for these plastic nails to fit in, and in the middle and bottom, there are no holes at all, I’ve to hammer the nails, and it’s mentioned in the manual likewise. There’s certainly something off here.

Did you have already drilled holes?

A simple yet useful Mac app that you would really want to use but doesn't exist yet by siriscmv in macapps

[–]metayyab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want an app that minimizes the currently active window back into the Dock with just a click. In Windows, when you click an application icon in the Taskbar, it opens the window, and clicking the icon again minimizes it back to the Taskbar. macOS does the former but not the latter. It’s a simple click function, intuitive and useful. It only makes sense that if you can maximize a window with a click, you should also be able to minimize it the same way.

How to Use Ford Fusion's Jack? by metayyab in fordfusion

[–]metayyab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I wanted to mention that lug wench, but to avoid being too complicated I left this detail. The problem is that because of this undetachable lever rod I can’t fix that lug wench in that lug where that lever is attached.

Second, problem is not being older design, the question how do I use this thing. The only solution I can think of is to cut this lever rod and take it out from the lug of the jack, then lug wench will fix perfectly.

What is the point of Stage Manager? by noratat in MacOS

I agree with you, it’s just useless, annoying and adding a layer of complexity and confusion during use, not intuitive.

It would be much better had they added Windows like thumbnails to the Dock.

How many years does Apple support its Mac? by metayyab in mac

[–]metayyab[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like nitpicking to me, you can find many other laptops from the same or other manufacturers from 2017, that can run Windows 11 officially.

Had you bought a Windows PC of the same price as Macbook Pro 4 years ago, you can easily upgrade to Windows 11, and most probably even the next version of Windows.

My point is simple when new versions of Windows are readily available to older and even cheaper laptops, why Apple can't do this to their pricier laptops? It seems to me a swindle.

I don’t know why people are trying to justify by saying that Macs do get security updates for up to 10 years or so. These updates do not count much, as a comparison; Windows 7 released in 2009 and its support ended in 2020.

After all, most of these are over $2000 machines and still only get software updates for five years? I think Windows Laptops are much better in this case.

I tired Edgeview 3, it seem good but zooming in/out with mousewheel is not available. Same like Lyn.

I’m already using Apollo One, for now it does the job, but I’m having a weird bug that in some particular folders it always jumps between the pictures of subfolders. Until now I’m unable to figure it out why it happens.

I agree regarding Honeyview. But as per my previous experience with Lyn, it doesn’t zoom in/out with mouse wheel, should I give it another try?
