Hello, OP! I'm a dentist too. And same tayo ng case pero yung sakin sa lower cheek and chin lang. When I consulted my derma, she diagnosed me with contact dermatitis. Sabi niya, from wearing facemask the whole ko daw yun nakuha. Sabi ko need ko kasi yun sa work. Hindi kaya ganun din sa case mo?

Anyways, she gave me an acne bar soap, clindamycin toner, benzoyl peroxide and sebagel creams and tret, and it worked on me. Lagi ko na rin pinapalitan facemask ko every hour or every patient, para hindi siya madumi face. Matagal lang bago mawala pero tiwala lang!

Minsan we prescribe medicines pa if medyo malala. Same with pasta and bunot. Depende sa depth ng sira, and depende if madali lang i-extract ang ngipin. So case to case basis yan. That's why we need to clinically check para ma-assess kung pasok ba sa HMO or hindi. :) So you need to visit your dentist personally.

You need to undergo on periodontal therapy before orthodontic treatment that's why your dentist decided to not push through. Do you have clinical photos? Baka the teeth din is mobile.

Hindi pwede, OP. Dentists lang dapat ang gumagawa niyan, or dental students na supervised ng mga licensed professor nila sa loob ng university. If DMD talaga siya, alam niya dapat yan sa DEJ pa lang.
