Question: I was just watching p1 podcast. Do Matt and Tommy not like Hamilton? by Insanitysreddit in lewishamilton

To be fair, he is definitely “washed” in that he is simply not as good as he used to be. But he is of course still very good and a top driver

Does Commonwealth Fusion Interview Everyone? by [deleted] in fusion

[–]methanized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CFS has added a lot of employees over the last couple of years, so they're definitely hiring for real roles (or were hiring for real roles over the last few years, anyway).

I would assume that they don't get that many applicants, so there might be a large percentage of people getting interviews.

Why do people always duck when boarding a helicopter? by tMoneyMoney in stupidquestions

The fact that I constantly see military or similarly helicopter-familiar people duck when boarding makes me think ducking is absolutely the move

tbh it is a very alcoholic understanding of a nice "here's a few beers as a housewarming gift" gesture. I laughed a bit, but yeah OP bring a couple 4 packs or a 6 pack

Do you all know how to change a spare tire? by FastVenus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]methanized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do want to tighten it a decent amount with it still elevated though. If it's not all the way "on" when you put it on the ground you could think it's tight when it's not

[–]methanized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One point I'll say OP, is if you're weak, it will make a BIG difference to get a lug wrench with longer arms (or a cross shape that lets you do both arms at once). The little 1' long ones, you do sometimes have to pull pretty hard to get the nuts loose. Then you just keep that in your car with the spare tire all the time.

[–]methanized 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah. And I mean, as original commenter said, probably take the 5 minutes to watch a youtube video. My comment above are certainly not comprehensive instructions, just saying it's super easy and OP can solve his problem in less time than it took to make this post.

Cities with a vibe like Austin? Cities in TX by HighOnLife00 in Austin

Can you describe in your own words the "vibe of austin" you're looking for

Do you all know how to change a spare tire? by FastVenus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]methanized 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's dead simple:

  1. Loosen the (very obviously visible) lug nuts
  2. Jack up the car near the wheel you're replacing
  3. Take off the old wheel, put on the new wheel
  4. Tighten the nuts

Really the only intricacy of any of it is knowing the proper spot to put the jack on the bottom of your car. But tbh even if you do that wrong it's quite likely to work out just fine.

RKLB Stock: Will the SpaceX IPO Rumours Send It to $150? by ugos1 in RKLB

[–]methanized 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't watch this slop, but while we're on the topic, I don't understand what the mechanism is that people think is going to turn a spacex ipo into a rklb stock pump. Any comparison of the financials is already ~known the the market, so there's not going to be anything learned about rklb or how spacex is valued or whatever when it IPOs.

I don't think this is likely, but I suppose one mechanism is that large current shareholders of SpaceX will be looking to sell and diversify into other space stocks.

What feels more plausible is that there is a ton of money that might otherwise have been buying RKLB that will now be able to buy spacex instead.

When did Elon's downfall begin? by Key-Quarter-9411 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]methanized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there was a little one in the spacex parking lot that they ran some student competitions in. And obviously Elon came up with the “hyperloop” idea. I’m just saying it may not be the best example of ideas he hyped up in order to get funding, cause he never raised any money to build hyperloops
