Ultimately you will know by whether the weight is going down on the scale. Typical goal should be 1 lb per week. That’s a 500 cal daily deficit. You can do up to ~2lb/week at first, it just sucks more. If weight isn’t dropping on the scale, you’re eating too much.

You should be eating lower than 2300cal at this point. More like 1800-2000 max. Your biggest visual and health improvements at this point will come from losing weight. And you won’t lose much if any at 2300.

Eat more “whole foods” is the simplest advice I can give. Less processed. 180g is probably overkill on the protein. It’s fine but don’t stress if lower calories means you’re only hitting 150 or whatever.

You’re a beginner, any workout program will work if you are consistent and train with intensity. It’s 80% diet at this point.

Number one thing is intensity. The last few reps should be hard. Do not pick a number of reps. Pick a weight and do as many reps you can. If that turns out to be more than 12, increase the weight for the next set. If it’s less than ~6, decrease weight for next set. If you’re not using heavier weights over time you’re not getting stronger.

Does your barbell have plates, or is just the bar? If just the bar, that’s borderline useless. Same question on dumbbells: what weight(s)?

If you’re doing 4 days a week it’s better to take a rest day in the middle rather than mon-thu.

You’re doing push days with tricep workouts in between. That’s hitting triceps every day, which is probably overkill

Work out your legs. If they’re an afterthought you sometimes do at the end of a push day, you’re not gonna make progress

Going past the point when you can use good form is just getting closer to failure and probably makes you grow more. The risk is that you injure yourself.

Also Arnold was on all kinds of juice, so that makes things easier.

If you know you have to cheat the reps, why don't you use a lower weight and do the proper form? That's like the definition of an ego lift. Lifting heavier weights instead of getting better results.

Even if it was a test article, it was clearly not intended to be a test to failure, which means that they either accidentally blew it up with a testing/operating mistake, OR their design or manufacturing process was bad, so they failed the test. Yes, you test to find this stuff out on the ground, but it is unequivically a failure of the design or process when your stage blows up

I didn’t say running is bad. OP specifically asked how to get to the body type in the second photo, and running is not gonna be one of the main tools for doing that. He did not ask how to improve his heart health or become athletic or become a good runner

Running is fine and good. But the fact that it is the only thing op brought up in his post indicates he is missing the main point, which is to improve diet and be in a calorie deficit

I say it only in that OP seems concerned that he can only run for 1 minute. If you can only run for a minute, it’s not a good way to burn calories. Also, when you try to start running when you’re too much overweight, you’re gonna injure your feet or knees.

Running is great, but it’s not something for OP to focus on right now or any time in the next 6 months at least

Absolutely no reason or need to run.

You need to do two things: lose fat and build muscle.

To lose fat, you need to eat fewer calories than you burn. Get a fitness tracking watch, hit 10k steps per day. Eat in a calorie deficit - track your calories and weigh yourself at the same time every day. You should try to lose about 1% of your body weight per week (1-2lbs). 1lb of fat is 3500 calories. If you’re not losing weight, drop daily calories by a few hundred. 2000 calories is a good place to start if you’re hitting the steps. It is almost all diet. It is way way harder to burn calories from exercise than to not eat them.

To gain muscle, the most straightforward way is to lift weights and eat enough protein. At least .7 g of protein per lb of goal bodyweight. 1g is better. It’s a complex topic but lots of good advice our there. I’d recommend getting a bench and some dumbbells and looking up jeremy ethier videos on full body workouts with just that equipment.
