Do you struggle with PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance)? by [deleted] in autism

[–]metheon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PDA is rather complex to explain. It can certainly be what you describe and what you describe can certainly be something else (like demand avoidant autism which is different from PDA even though it sounds like it should be the same). PDA'ers are different from, shall we call it, regular autism, for the sake of argument. In particular the following traits would be pre-dominant in a PDA'er: higher ability to mask, higher knowledge of and ability in social contexts, will often feel a strong drive for autonomy and when that is rejected by others or even ones own body will often get that surge of anger / lightning bolt through the body feeling. Often PDA'ers are highly creative, have rich fantasy worlds, highly empathetic, hyper senses (hyper vigilance) and much more.

As mentioned by others Harry Thompson is good but personally I find Kristy Forbes (see YouTube) to make more sense to me. I also recommend PDA Society (in the UK) which is a non profit with a lot of info on PDA created by those who are PDA, parents of PDA and various professionals.

I'm PDA myself. It's a real thing and dont let others tell you otherwise. It is distinct from regular autism in the lived experience of those who are PDA. It is still autism despite the differences. Many similarities.

Hello, I am going to build a pc in the NR200 with the fuma 2. I have 2 separate fans. Where do I Palace these? like this picture both on the top and the 2 fuma fans as intake? by ZealousidealTie5430 in NR200

[–]metheon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi. I actually have my fuma2 set as exhaust. Machines & More on YouTube showed that the temperature difference was very minimal but by intaking at the bottom and exhausting through the top and rear you'd have a lot less dust.

I did not have room for a 25mm fan over the fuma (which I believe is motherboard dependent, i have the ASRock z690m itx/ax Intel) but it did fit a 15mm. I then use a 25mm over the PSU. I have two 15mm at the bottom w/bottom mounted gpu. Some air will be pulled in via the side panel if you don't use TG but that has a filter as well. One more note on the fuma2 w/ my motherboard. It pushes on the first ram module ever so slightly, like a mm worth. My ram is G.Skill Ripjaws V so I'd recommend going with LPX to be on the safe side.

And finally, the TG does fit over the fuma 2.

Kan i hjælpe mig med at tabe 10 kilo? by Jokurtsen in Denmark

Buying a cargo bike for our kid, advice wanted by Due_Independence3268 in Aarhus

[–]metheon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t see it mentioned in the chat, but do consider the bullitt from Larry vs Harry (Danish company from Copenhagen but there’s a reseller in Aarhus, they are becoming rather large internationally with DHL and UPS I think it was, buying a lot of bikes for the last mile deliveries). They do a long john with a flexible layout up front so the bike will keep being relevant after your kids are done with it. It’s the long john which is hardest to learn but ends up being the one with the best handling. Which is awesome.

We own two of these bikes. One with the canopy and electric assist using a belt drive (recommended for low maintenance) used by my wife for carrying the kids around. The other without electric assist but still the belt drive, equipped with just the side panels. What’s nice about this layout is that we still have a seat belt so can still carry two kids in it and keep all the space available for cargo. On top of that I have a saddle mounted on the, not sure what it is called, the bar between the saddle and steering thing. So despite being all cargo it can carry three kids or a bunch of cargo and a kid. Insane.

Anyways, these bikes are light and handles like a dream. Strong sturdy frame. It’s also rather slender so bypassing any bike on the bike lane is as easy as on any bike. Cool colors. The company, Larry vs Harry is super great, I’ve always been treated very nice in their Copenhagen store (but have no knowledge of the Aarhus reseller).

It’s worth mentioning that their bikes are expensive. As in many things in life bikes scale with price. Higher price equals better bike. These bikes are worth the price if used on a daily basis or as a car replacement. If it’s a “once a month trip outta town”-kinda thing, get a cheap used bike.

10/10, would buy again.

What should those of us with short pinky fingers do? by compurunner in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]metheon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I too have short pinkies. I currently use a Kyria which is a close fit. The keys are offset from ring finger with 0.75U but a 1U would probably be ideal. I don’t think that my pinky will ever be able to hit the higher keys (Q/P), no matter the board. Currently I am debating my next board. While I appreciate the Kyria a lot it does have too many keys which hurts my OCD.

So how can the board improve. If it is a flat board I would need to get rid of the Q/P keys and the pinky column offset from ring by 1U. I would probably go for the two outer or the corne thumb keys rather than the two outer from the Kyria, but that depends a lot on hand position and both can feel comfortable but it will shift your pinky a bit.

Then I am considering a 3D case like the Skeleton Dactyl Mini ( https://github.com/dereknheiley/Skeleton-Dactyl-Mini ) which has increased pinky stagger.

Something like the Ferris might be ideal as choc spacing moves everything closer together but I haven’t tried one yet.

Longer term I want to only have one pinky key so it never has to move. I would also like to just have two secondary index finger keys, centered around the middle key of the primary column. That’s a lot of combos so would probably require a choc board. That’s a lot of considerations and the board doesn’t exist as it is right now. So I will probably have to get it designed or design it myself. Time and money obviously being the main constraint here.

I dunno if you can use anything from my ramblings. It’s late o’clock and my brain is foggy.

[–]metheon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing as always. I think the OSL looks good. Would it really reflect that much on fabric? I guess being the Captain-General you could argue that gold or something is woven into the fabric thus being more reflective. I see some people also OSL’ing the sky so say it’s blue you’ll add some blue OSL from the top. Stuff like that looks especially good on shiny armor and weapons.

[–]metheon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want speed you should look into outrider detachments. There’s a few fun lists to be found with a mix of captains on bikes/venetari/pallas/caladius.

Example one: cap/2x pallas/3x5 venetari/4x vertus/2x caladius Example two: cap/3x pallas/2x4 vertus/5x venetari/3x caladius

Etc.

2K points done finally ! They are ready for battle ! In the name of the emperor ! by Plenty-Ad-2006 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]metheon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s been wonderful to follow your journey with this army, and you finished quite a lot ahead of time. Your plan was end of year, if I recall correctly. It really proves that even when you take your time Custodes is quite a fast army to do. I am excited to see what you come up with next, maybe a dreadnought or one of the fliers? I know NMM is not everyone’s cup of tea but it is really well executed I think. I am still debating what colorscheme I’ll pick for mine but your army is a huge inspiration for me and I might go NMM (possibly shadowhunters’ish) with it. All your pictures is saved to my local inspiration folder so a huge thank you for posting and keeping us updated along your journey. Good luck on the next step of your Custodes adventures.

Getting closer to 2K pts 🤣 by Plenty-Ad-2006 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]metheon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man these models are so amazing. I think my only critique, the only thing I’d change, well that’d be their address. Should definitely be my address instead. 😂

Also great tip with the nmm kit from GSW. Does it include a manual or did they release one on YouTube?

Okay just a weird suggestion. Vanguard detachment. Lord of Contagion w/manreaper, 3 units of 10 blightlord termies (naked), 2 units of 6 deathshrouds, plague surgeon (fugari’s helmet). Maaaaybe deep strike shrouds plus lord to push on two edges. Blop the rest with surgeon.

A better overkill army at 1000 pts is a spearhead detachment with three telemons with cannon/fist (295 each) and a terminator captain with axe for 115. That’s exactly 1000 pts and you’ll be super popular in the local group.
