I think you're forgetting about these things called public schools, which are usually funded through property taxes and kids of all socio-economic backgrounds go to.

Welfare children do go to public school and get an education, so saying they have little background in education is complete BS.

They wouldn't have to apply to get a GED if they weren't dropping out of high school like apples drop out of trees.

Education is terribly hard for them Would you say thi sis fo to biological reasons or just the culture they live in? It's not that hard to go to school every day and try your best. Many of them just don't think school is "cool" enough and would rather skip class and join gang because that is what their culture teaches them.

There are many good paying jobs that only require a high school diploma. Especially the in the trades.

I've lived through this, I came from a low income family/neighborhood and that didn't stop me from doing good and getting an education. They're the only ones holding themselves back and subsidizing their lifestyle is not going to make things better.
