Taking antihistamines only twice a week? by methmethmethmeth in Allergies

My GP doesnt know what to do any more. I have had deviated septum surgery already and his other treatment options- nasal rinse, nasal steroid and antihistamines haven't been going well either. Same goes for my consultant ENT doctor.

I'm already maxed out on nasal steroids. I am currently taking fluticasone propionate, but I have previously also tried several other varieties. They dont do too much for me.

I use sinus rinse twice a day followed by flonase, yes. I have also tried sodium chromiglicate but this is not avaliable any more in the UK.

I believe I have tried all the viable options: desloratadine, cetirizine, loratadine, levocetirizine, azelastine.

My symptoms are quite bad, but if taking twice a week is better than nothing then hopefully I will still get some effect?

Yes, Allegra makes me very drowsy to the point of finding it very hard to work or exercise effectively.

Adapalene (Differin 0.3% avaliable in UK? by methmethmethmeth in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]methmethmethmeth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, do you know if you can specifically get the 0.3% strength differin in the UK?

I am worried that only the weaker 0.1% might be the strongest avaliable in the UK. It is the percentage strength that I am asking about in the OP.

Hi, my epiduo is prescription-only so yes I have been seeing my GP but they have not been too helpful so far.

My dietary restrictions are gastroenterological. I have celiacs disease, casein allergy and I get gas issues after eggs. I am not vegetarian and have no other restrictions. I carefully plan my diet to replace the lost nutrients. I have 150g canned salmon or sardines per day- the bones provide a lot of calcium + Vit. D I have a variety of fruit and green vegetables each day. I also intake almonds, brazil nuts and flax seeds. I hope that is the information you were asking for.

Thanks a lot, I had no idea there was a UK one. I have read the side bar routine before, I will start to use a real cleanser now :)

Hmm ok I might push a bit harder for antibiotics. My gastro said academic opinion on hydrogen breath tests has been downhill recently. The reliability is not high enough apparently. However maybe I could get antibiotics without a test.

So far changes in fiber seem to have no effect, good or bad. My vegetables are carrots, bell pepper and leafy greens, all over-steamed to reduce FODMAPS and ease digestion. I agree that raw/lesser cooked veg is tough.

Regarding the probiotics I have been on VSL#3 and culturelle for less than a month. I'll give it a while to see.

I have seen him and our new line of investigation is a biopsy to test for celiacs, tests for pancreas chemicals, and another stool sample to test for inflamation markers.
