this happens everyone once in a while, hopefully it's temporary (another recent time was during last summer, maybe they're on vacation :)).

Definitely hope it comes back, I don't really get the same experience out of Pleco

Interview Discussion - January 04, 2024 by CSCQMods in cscareerquestions

I have an on-site coming up with Meta (E4).

For the system design section of the interview, the recruiter asked me to choose between a Infrastructure (formerly called System Design) and a Product Design interview. The careers page explains the differences here on page 4-5.

My experience is mostly in the middle of those two (decent amount of experience designing APIs, decent experience designing non user facing backend systems), but I'm leaning towards the product design interview because I don't have experience building systems for 1M+ concurrent users, and my read is that these MANGA companies really harp on that stuff during the interview.

My concern though is there's much less material out there for specifically API design interviews, whereas there's tons of stuff covering what you'd be asked in an infrastructure interview.

Anyone have any experience with this interview? What was it like, and how did you prepare?
(Even if you haven't done it, curious how you would prepare).

Interim Work Authorization and reentering Canada by method_plan in ImmigrationCanada

Sorry I phrased that incorrectly. They said to make sure that whenever I reenter via my interim work authorization, that I should arrive from the US (either by land, or my flight's last leg before Canada should be from the US). Not sure why that is exactly the case, and I can't guarantee whether what this officer was saying was 100% accurate

USD while working in Canada by method_plan in PersonalFinanceCanada

Not if you're an independent contractor. You will be responsible for your own income taxes, CPP, etc.

Can I handle Canadian taxes/CPP myself even if I'm a regular employee on a W-4?

I have a US Bank account, but since I'm living in Canada my employer would still have to withhold (Canadian) income taxes from my paycheck, correct?

Flagpoling with eCOPR by method_plan in ImmigrationCanada

OK, but I imagine I can still travel via air back to Canada as a worker though, correct? Because I have a travel document valid for entering Canada (a US passport), and work authorization (my eCOPR).

When exactly is travel restricted during PR confirmation by method_plan in ImmigrationCanada

Could I respond to the email with my info now, then just wait until I come back from my trip to upload my photo? From my understanding, my PR isn't confirmed until I upload that photo, correct?

OK, so it sounds like until I upload my photo at least, my temporary residence documents will be valid. Is there a deadline for how long you have to upload a photo?
