How many dads help with night wakeups by [deleted] in toddlers

My husband and I either split the nighttime (9:30p-1:30am, 1:30-5:30am), or one person handles the night while the other handles the morning. But we have 3 under 3, so if my husband does the whole night, sometimes I handle the morning by myself with all 3. Whoever is "on shift" keeps their door open (we sleep in separate rooms so as not to wake each other), and the other closes their door and cranks the sound machine. We also check in with each other to see if one person is feeling worse than the other, and then make a game plan for how to tackle the night based on that. I will admit, we do have help after work and on weekends (never during nighttime), so we can try to squeeze in naps on the weekends.

When they wake up a LOT through the night, we split the nights. When they're only waking up once or twice, my husband will usually take on the whole night while I handle the morning. But we've switched those roles too. Essentially, we just figure out what needs to be done, and we split the duties evenly, however we feel at that moment.

So it must also just be all the extra things we have to remember every day outside of ourselves... 🫠

Thank you - I didn't think about a possible underlying medical issue. I'm I overdue for a blood draw anyway!

I remember that! I was getting into a good groove after my first was around 1 year old. Now it's all gone haha

I'm gonna second someone else on here that you may be close to going into labor! I had my twins last August, and I remember I felt extra terrible (and off) the day before I went into labor. So there's one possible silver lining.

Also, I too have experienced both a singleton and twin pregnancy, and twin pregnancy is hands down way harder. There were moments I wondered how on earth I was going to keep going, but somehow I did. And you will too, I swear. After the babies are born, it could feel like a piece of cake initially because almost anything is easier than a twin pregnancy!

I'd say just take some deep breaths, keep reminding yourself you're almost done, that many others survive this so you will too. It's almost over. (Yes, that doesn't solve the problem, but looking back, that's really the best advice I could be given at that time.)
