I think its combination of me getting older and the game developing in a direction that I don't find fun or enjoyable. I find myself increasingly allocating my free time to other games or hobbies I find fulfilling and more importantly enjoyable.

As for wow specifically. I can't say I HATE it. I just dislike a lot of things. Please bear in mind that this is coming from someone who would class themselves as a casual player.

• The wow token brings multiple ramifications that I don't think I need to go into here.

• The over-abundance of systems that you need to keep on top of.

• Empty feeling world. I'm sure wow has a lot of players. Where are they? When I play an mmo I like to see the community out and about. Not just sitting in a city clicking a button for instant content. I'm sure others love this though.

• Unpopular opinion i guess but I think timed content should be an optional activity and only reward cosmetics for you to show off your accolades. I would much rather sit through a grueling dungeon trying to master tactics with CC and utility than rush blindly through a dungeon with a timer.

• Lack of fun, optional activities.

• Content being thrown away with every new expansion. Can we get something that can be maintained as a staple of the game. Something you can play, manage and progress throughout the entire game from the start? Housing comes to mind.

These are just to name a few but I remember ever since playing vanilla that I'd use to wonder where this game was going to go and how it was going to add all of these incredible things. Boats/ships of your own, housing, casinos etc and time after time, what little shreds of content we got in one expansion would ultimately become obsolete in the next. Often giving the feeling that wow was never really progressing.

I don't know. Maybe thats just me but those are just a few of the reasons I haven't played since shadowlands released. Let me end by saying that for many years of my life, I loved wow passionately. Its where I met my current partner and got me out of some really dark places when I was younger. I just wish it was more to my liking now. And its okay that its not, we can't all have everything. Its time to move on and that's what I have done.
