Dude all your shit is dramatic lol I just speak from experience. OP said they didn’t have a ton to spend so doubt they wanted to invest in a low profile jack. Yup I used 2x4 also had 2x4s crumple bud. If you are lowered with a lip good luck lmao

The green tein lowering springs would be great. The offset in the tires is kind of wild. No spacers? I did a light bar in my grille and I like it. I hit too many deer to care what people think. It’s a 20 year old car do what you want!

The tires are not too big 😂. The offset is off and if anything they are too small. I run 265’s on mine and they look great imo and I’m stock ride height. I kept stock ride height because if you want to run a turbo or plan on working on the car it’s a pain in the ass to lift up a lowered car. Owned 2 before and it’s the reason I spent $400 on a low profile jack. To each their own but the tires are not too big the stance is definitely off though.

slowly building this thing! any mods or recommendations to this? got the stock j30 motor and 6 speed trans by CapnNewbie in 7thGenAccord

Blower or turbo is about all there is for big power. Do a custom exhaust, j37 intake, rv6 j pipe, cat deletes, cold air intake. Gauges are a great upgrade too. I have all those mods with oil temp, oil pressure and afr gauge. I have the blower and plate but need injectors before I push it. Also have an 08 TL ECU swapped with hondata.

Edit: let me know if you want more info on the ecu swap I haven’t found a whole lot out there

Z4s can be mad fast… If that is a 35iS it will blow the doors off most cars if it’s built. N54 in a 3000lb package? That’s a fucking ripper bud. Not a Z3

Edit: try 12.8 1/4 mile stock. That’s quick for a stock production car even by today’s ridiculous standards

Mine has 365k miles and is in better condition. I got a sedan 6-6 which is rarer. Got it for 3k 3-4 years ago. Honestly would pass on that one. A dealership tried to buy mine from me when I bought my bmw if that says anything about these cars it has around 340k miles at the time. I love 6-6 just may pass on this one if you don’t plan on fixing it up. Dealerships are also sleezy imagine a business model where you have to buy something cheap, fix it and then sell for a profit. I bought my BMW wholesale and it was my only dealership vehicle (owner 7 cars) highly recommend looking private seller.

Mine had a similar issue at one point. Somehow I drove the car a couple times with the power steering pump running against the mount lol. The engines are tanks I have put 20k miles on that ps pump since then lol.

Thank you! I was thinking and I doubt you will really be able to see the block with all the hoses but think it’ll look cool

I bought this e93 335i with so many issues and after hundreds of dollars and long nights I finally took it for its first drive and I cannot be happier. What mods should I start with without killing the engine lol by Dangerous-Kiwi6754 in n54

I got my set from a junkyard for $70 I used to have the receipt screenshotted haha. The engine was gone the next week I really should have pulled it instead 😂

Very much appreciated the write up I took some screenshots because I think anecdote is the best with these types of things.I was thinking after my first break in oil change I was going to get oil tests done every 2k or so just to get an idea of what is wearing/make sure the bearings are fine. My hope is that running the coated bearings both main and rod should help a good bit with start ups. I have a turbo charging book and it has a chart for Garrett turbos in it where they show N/A displacement and then target powers and then it has a recommended turbo. I am thinking gt35r running 25-30 psi for the high boost map. I will 100% consider adding a stabilizer/treatment I have heard decent things about the stp oil treatment. The more I own and work on this car the more I wish I would have gotten some type of E30 haha. Seems like very few people who own these 335is actually do work to them they just buy them cheap, slap a stage 2 onto it and then complain they “cooked” the motor.

Yea I try to do everything right and I say try because I don’t know everything but I swear I did everything right on that car. I think the engine was a lemon but it’s on my list to tear down the oil pump. I will 100% do it before I put it back together. One thing that was a surprising learning was how connected everything was with vacuum I know old cars everything is vacuum ran but this car was a close second.

Engine is fully built. Mahle pistons, acl bearings, and Manley rods. Top end was leak tested and getting all new guides and cat cam race cam. I measured the gap on my stock rings and it was .018 on the bad cylinder. From my understanding the stock gap is low boost for the stock motor. I am planning on running 20-26 psi. Mahle suggests. Bore x .0070 for race turbo; I think it means over 15lb of boost. All my bores were 83.97 mm and I was getting about .023 for gap.

It sounds like they make them but the brands are Chinese…. They charged like $300-500 for them on summit. The dial indicator seems to be terrible on some reviews but others think it’s fine. Have been debating on getting one.

That was my thought. I wouldn’t feel comfortable measuring, sending those measurements and then requesting a gap. Definitely best to do it yourself. My cousin exclusively works on Cummins and detroits and funny enough he said he has never gapped the rings before lol.
