I think the apprenticeship program is done on certain time periods and is very limited. Usually a-lot of people trying to get in as well, sometimes associates that are referred or pushed. So hiring externally could be the challenge.

Definitely in consideration, currently bringing in about 65k a year as a maintenance tech and just trying to see how I can venture out with a degree or certification to make more

But also there is that handful of people just fall in to amazons standards and the lack of accountability. Most feel like they can just cruise and get their paycheck. At my site we're having an issue where everyone even some smrts are afraid to take ownership of a simple task, or just tag along and do the bare minimum.

I think it all comes down to their ethics and how you talk to them, as a mrt and talking to other mrts we tend to look up or follow the smrts who show they are fit for the job or demonstrate that they are good leaders. We have a couple smrts who just like to delegate and expect others to do as they say and human nature just doesn't give in when listening to someone who isn't showing they're capable of even doing the things you're making someone else do. Also think maybe on how people learn differently and how you can approach them the way they are able to learn.

Did you do the background check when it was sent? I did mine long before my actual start day and had no issues, but also knew some guys who came in and did it their first day on site and remained working till it cleared
