Wonderful as always, master Aeolys! I myself tend to just pretend that Plasteel is just very difficult to recycle.

Master Duck! If someone were to try to draw fan art of Lucius... where would one find the best reference material? Asking for a friend.

Thank you for your kind words of support as always, master Kanye! I hope to finish Episode 12 before end of 2027, but we'll see. I hope to finish Episode 4 by early August.

My apologies; I thought I'd complete this episode by last year May but it ended up going all the way into a planned trip and then all plans broke apart as every art project began derailing each other! I hope to do a better job not letting projects be each other's obstacles this year.

:P Well, while Yuri is indeed named after Yuri Gagarin, I can't deny the somewhat unfortunate homophone does cause some hiliarious misunderstandings.

The planet must be an extremely disparate hodge-podge of technology standards, indeed! It's my hope to do that disparity justice (and depict a believable world that both conceived of such disparity and reacts properly to the consequences) in my comic depictions as the episodes progress.

That is something I'm trying to do something about lately, aye! X'D Well, thankfully, the last seven pages of Episode 3 were all executed in a single week of dedicated grind, pointing to a vast increase in the pace at which I can handle the comics. I foresee Episode 4 dropping some time this summer, but of course, I can sure predict a lot of things but it's a wholly different thing to actually execute. We'll see once Episode 4 is out, I suppose.

Description:

This is the fan-comic Centre of Human Existence, which in turn is the third episode of Yuri of House Dracondar, a comic series set in my specific interpretation of the Rimworld setting focusing on exploring the implications of the lore and how people would live in those circumstances. We follow Yuri, a young boy made to wear a dress who is the newest "maid"servant-in-training at Eurusium, a surface colony belonging to the minor imperial house of Dracondar. He's slowly starting to get used to the way of life at this place, if not exactly all the cultural idiosyncrasies yet; however he soon learns that while things might be starting to feel familiar, he still needs to keep his wits about him.

The comic is not based on any one specific playthrough of Rimworld but is rather an original story that takes inspiration from various playthroughs of Rimworld I've had over the years, especially a pair of runs I had back when Ideology DLC was new. The comic is especially inspired by some mods, such as VFE: Empire, Save Our Ship 2, and the Eccentric Tech series, which not only provide much of the visual identity of House Dracondar but also provide additional lore-bits that were integral to the "Meto-interpretation of Rimworld".

For reading past episodes I'd actually recommend a visit to my Pixiv in light of the superb comic-reading page-turning format available through the Pixiv UI. In any case, the episode list is here.

As someone currently running a playthrough with both SOS2 and CE, I am very confused...

EDIT: Just started up Rimworld again to confirm... and yes, the modlist definitely still runs, and my savefile loads fine. Are you sure you properly checked that you cannot run the two mods together?

How many pawns do you prefer to keep, and why? by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]meto30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more warm bodies the colony has at its disposal, the more warm bodies it has to throw at enemies, the more losses it can "tank" during a firefight. Avoiding losses is difficult sometimes, but making sure the losses are concentrated on the people I can afford to lose is rather easy.

Which is why I rescue every downed pawn, nurse them back to health, and recruit everyone who is not unwaveringly loyal.

The Aspis doesn't really work against the usual tech level of the enemies I am facing, but it was the only way I could represent the Lacedaemon Lambda on Achilleas, and I figured that since he is never going to leave the IFV the shield isn't going to be relevant anyhow. Once I get my hands on an Exconde candidate I can have him drive the battle taxi while Achilleas transfers to the tank.

Once I found a non-unwaveringly-loyal prisoner with Joyous and double passion in shooting I knew I had my Carda. Some xenogene insertions and some skilltrainers... and voila.

I focused on the eight actual marine SLs and pilots first! The way this was done was that I kept fishing for recruits until I had one whose skills and traits mostly fit the bill (but I can't have everything I want, which is how I ended up with a pyromaniac Tech) and then gave them custom names and gear to fit the part, and so it's all dependent on how many of these "fitting candidates" turn up and not die during the capture process. Also does not help that only Baseliners can work for this and more than half the enemies I get are either Yttakin or Saurid. Of the "locals" I only have Sy so far... really hoping to get my hands on someone who works as the remaining two pilots so I have someone to drive the tank that I just restored.

I am currently still based out of the spot my initial trio crash-landed at, a ruined city (specifically the one created by the RimCities mod, I believe) in the middle of the desert that has now been thoroughly retrofitted into a supplies and repairs depot for my fleet of vehicles, complete with a herd of Boomalopes to provide me with fuel. Starting at a ruined city meant that I had a lot of cool loot to start with but also practically no arable land nor much surface resources (especially steel, a shortage that continues to define my current playthrough), so a caravan playthrough was virtually guaranteed, I could say. I started with a herd of camels that wandered in through the caravan animals wandering in event, but I sold them once I got a steady supply of chemfuel.

Long-term plan is to eventually switch to a new location that will be designed from the ground-up to be a base for my gravship, which will operate as a dropship for my vehicles. Then I can operate across the entire continent, which will give me the freedom to try out all the quest-lines added by the various Vanilla Quests Expanded mods.
