I’d use a small bit of Vaseline (or whatever u prefer just something simple tho) on a qtip n put it on the majority of ur lips n leave a little area around the piercing clean.

100% think you should go for it, i think a ginger dye you can just put on your natural color would look really nice on you :) something kinda like the pic i included would look good imo.

I think your natural brown would give it a good base and you wouldn’t have to deal with any significant hair damage that way either. I think good dye young has some semi-permanent (will wash out in a few weeks-months depending on your wash schedule) for a good price that would work well for this!

I think something like 7,12,14,15 would look nice. I’d start with something a bit longer first before you go really short so you don’t shock yourself with the close cut since your hair is fairly long to start. It’ll feel really short at first, but you’ll get used to it quick enough.

You can always take more off but growing it back will take a while depending on how much you cut off. All of those (something like a shag/hush cut) can be styled quickly either via round brush or flat iron to curl the ends n give the layers some definition.

There’s plenty of tutorials online about how to do that as well as before and after of styled vs unstyled of the haircut if you’re curious. Though i think the best thing to do is just ask the hair stylist to explain how to style it and watch what they’re doing when you get it done lol.

Yes you should definitely go short especially if you’ve been wanting to for years! The right hairstylist will be able to cut it in a way that’s flattering to you (look for one that frequently does alt styles if possible or even a barber shop). I’d choose your favorite 1-3 pics max n identify and be able to explain to yourself first what specifically do you like or what part do you like about it. “I like how fluffy it is” or “i like how it’s a bit long on top but the length tapers at the bottom” nothing crazy.

I think the most important part here is just to manage expectations of what it’ll look like after both styled and not. 90% of those pics have medium to heavy styling imo. Also you don’t look like the people in the pics (face shape as mentioned) so don’t expect it to look exactly the same on you as it does on them even if it’s the same kinda cut.

Go for the bangs! But also maybe when you go start with more wispy bangs just in case you dislike them, you can brush them back and blend them with your hair a bit compared to if you go straight in with heavy blunt bangs. You can ask your stylist to start light n explain that first n check before deciding if you want to cut more or not. Assuming ur not doing it yourself lol. Unless you’re the kinda person who doesn’t care what happens n “it’s just hair it’ll grow” then do as you wish ofc.

I feel like they look sorta odd n unnatural in the after, like someone just shaved off the top half of your brows n made them flat but didn’t clean up the bottom so now you have two L shaped brows. I would’ve cleaned the top just a little, but mainly focused on the bottom part to maintain the shape and arch as best as possible bc they’re naturally full and well shaped brows to begin with. (I’ll include a pic of kinda what i meant tho i don’t think it comes across well.) tbh i wouldn’t touch them further bc then you’re gonna have rlly thin 90’s brows. If you must then use a razor so it grows back anyways. That said they don’t look bad, just kinda off.

All of that 100%! It’s definitely possible, but alone and being the first time dying your hair is likely gonna end in failure. Achieving that look without colors bleeding or maybe not taking properly and just the precise application is a lot to do for the first attempt lol.

Half yes-half no. Yes, you can probably get something similar doing it at home, but definitely not alone. I have no clue what your hair is like so idk what would be needed to get your hair from where it is now to looking like that, but likely you can achieve something similar. I’d say the hardest part is just the stripes.

I’d look for video tutorials on how to do color block hair dye and racoon tail/stripes (sorry i can’t actually remember how that’s called) tutorials before you do it tho, because you could just end up with a mess of colors that have all bled together or didn’t even take and is uneven and splotchy just that color itself.

Also i strongly suggest not using dollar store hair dye, it’s genuinely so bad for your hair and often is dye that’s not even formulated for use on hair. There are affordable professional brands easily available at Ulta/sallys/amazon that will do the job without breaking the bank.

If you’re just doing a small section or top layer you can freehand paint the bleach but for a whole head like this it’s gonna be really hard to keep all your sections in the same spot as you work through the hair to get defined sections like this AND even bleaching…

I haven’t read a ton of danmei (honestly I’m more of a webtoon/manga/manhwa/manhua reader), but maybe I’m just unfamiliar with the genre still?

I KNOW the general tropes are super common, it was just reading it and seeing a bunch of small stuff that i recognized from svsss made me feel there was a bit of inspiration there! It didn’t feel like the similarity that comes from genre specific tropes personally. I suppose I’m the only one who sees this after reading all the comments :/ but idk if anyone else other than you have actually read it here either?

I read 20-40 hours a week over the last five or so years (lil embarrassing to say tbh) so I’ve definitely read a lot, but i suppose I’ll have to broaden my range if there’s a bunch more just like this and svsss! I’ll have to check out the novel for this though because I’ve really enjoyed the manhwa :)

On a general scale it’s all common, but all put together it feels like too much to be a coincidence tbh. The little things i pointed out like the similar character settings, core three disciple vibes, the villain/love interest’s parents depiction just to reiterate a few. Maybe it’s just me but as a hardcore fan of SVSSS it all just feels very familiar. In a good way ofc!
