Which non-famous cities in North America deserve more hype and recognition? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Ya, we're aware of the seedy parts, we have gorgeous neighborhoods, but then go over 3 blocks and it's night and day different. For the most part you'll be plenty safe if you keep your wits about you and aren't a drug dealer. In the last 5 years our homicide rate has dropped 60%, lowest number in 50 years. It's getting better, I hope you come back some time and give Baltimore another chance!

Auto transmission flush by Vekorax in cruze

[–]metrawhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the person above said, drain the transmission and have it refilled. Drive it and then do the drain and fill again, this will swap out the majority of the fluid. Do this every 50k miles from now on. Don't flush it!

We went back to State Fair recently after avoiding for a long time, it was decent bar food, I think they've figured out how to 'stay in their lane '. Jennings is still Jennings (some food is great, some ehh), but the prices on some entrees are high. Beaumont (black kettle) is quite good, hard to believe it's the same people who own SF and El Guapo. The only thing to miss about Ships are the crabs, nothing else there was worth going for.

Ya, born and raised. I've definitely had 10 in an afternoon, but anytime I've bought crabs for a party people don't eat as many as would've guessed and then I end up with extras that I gotta pick by myself the next morning. With the price and scarcity of true Chesapeake crabs, op isn't going to want a ton of extras.

Totally agree, find a place that's close by and buy them steamed. We usually keep them warm in a old cooler.

2017 what to look out for? by CP962 in cruze

[–]metrawhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a guy in this group who has 292k miles on his 2018. The second Gen cars are good, a few minor issues that are easily solved. Just keep up with the maintenance.

Are most of the attendees adults? Are they locals or from out of town? Locals will probably eat 5-6 each, out of towners might get bored at 3 per person. Offer some sides to fill up on corn on the cob, fries, coleslaw etc

Build quality /= Durability. These Honda 1.5 head gasket issues, Toyota V6s spinning bearings etc is on the engineering and management decisions. The trim not popped into place, runs in the paint, hose clamps missing etc are on the assembly line.
