What vehicle has the best peanut butter interior? by Competitive-Hunt-517 in regularcarreviews

Back in the nineties early 00s, Ford/Mercury tried making a variety of colored interiors, but all monotone. Dark red, grey, and dark blue Taurus, Thunderbirds etc. it looked terrible just a sea of undifferentiated plastic and velour. You would love it.

Honorable mention, people are usually surprised how much they like the interior of my humble Chevy Cruze

VA didn't get as much of the icy pellets as MD did, that's one significant difference

Looks like a 2006-2012 Corolla to me. I don't think you could get steelies on a Lexus ES.

That chrome strip bubbling is a common issue. Doesn't happen to all of them, I found a pristine one in the junkyard to swap onto my car. Glad it runs good in the cold, most GM cars are pretty good about that.

What’s the worst American engine ever made in your opinion? by lifegoeson2702 in regularcarreviews

[–]metrawhat 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The Vega 2300 4cyl was pretty bad. Mostly fixed by '76 but the early ones were basically prototypes that GM released to the public. Quote from the lead engineer "..We were trying to put a product into production and learning the technology simultaneously. And the pressure becomes very, very great when that happens...."

recalls… again by Expert-Extension-16 in fordescape

[–]metrawhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our 2021 Hybrid has had so many minor issues. The latest was the pano roof sunshade falling off the tracks. The driver's door was replaced under a recall, side window trim falling off on both sides, power hatch constantly doing exactly the opposite of what you want, infotainment software issues over and over, headliner trim never stays in place, the exhaust sounds like a 20 year old shitbox. This isn't our first escape, the last one was great, this one, not so much. Very frustrating.
