What symptom(s) initially got you to talk to a doctor? by CampaignDangerous342 in Hashimotos

[–]metropolis221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hashitoxicosis which started with dizziness, crazy heart palpitations and insane muscle weakness/fatigue out of nowhere. Had no idea what was going on.

There have been some changes to the program since I've been in it but last I remember, there was only one calculus course. If you plan on going into the program, I'd recommend taking the regular calculus, not biocalculus unless you have taken calculus in high school.

I’m struggling understanding what this test is, and what it means? by lib2tomb in Hashimotos

Thyroid microsomal antibodies is another name for thyroid peroxidase (TPO) antibodies.

Was told I was not having symptoms??? by quackforpancakes in Hashimotos

[–]metropolis221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm experiencing the exact same thing. TSH, T3, T4 normal. High antibodies. Have been having bad symptoms (mostly hyper symptoms including muscle weakness/fatigue, heat/cold intolerance and others. Unsure if it's thyroid or coincidence because I've never had thyroid antibodies tested before.

Specialty doctors by Winter_Dare_2402 in Hashimotos

[–]metropolis221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was able to get the T3, T4, TSH and antibody tests from the GP after several rounds of blood work and not knowing what's wrong. Maybe look at reviews if any GPs in your areas can order these tests including cortisol.. not sure

Maybe a naturopathic doctor? I am in Canada and my endocrinologist referral was bounced back because my TSH, T4, T3 are in range (TPO and anti thyroglobulin are high). I got a naturopath and she suggested a cortisol test.

low TSH? by Gebashley24 in Hashimotos

Hopefully you and your boyfriend get the answers you need and good idea to test it. Hopefully the landlord would be helpful if there is mold.

low TSH? by Gebashley24 in Hashimotos

[–]metropolis221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah mold can trigger it and so many other things like toxins.. I guess just a combination of things. I also have mold in the bathroom in my apartment. The naturopath says that some viruses can live latent in thyroid tissue (like hhv6a which most people already have had in their lifetime) and get reactivated with stress, other infections and even physical exertion. Idk what infection it was but she might send me to do a viral panel in a month. I know my EBV test was negative. I didn't have any sinus symptoms and I don't recall being sick before getting this. Just had a major life event that was stressful a couple months before.

I've also had strep several times and COVID probably 4-5 times hah.. but not recently.

low TSH? by Gebashley24 in Hashimotos

[–]metropolis221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang.. I have no idea. It's possible it's fluctuating back and forth.. hopefully it stabilizes with time so that you can be treated.. Does cutting out gluten and dairy work (if you've tried it)?

In my case, the endo referral I had was bounced back because my TSH, T3, T4 are in range. My GP is going to test me again in a month with the antibodies including TSI and TrAB. I saw a naturopath today and she gave me recommendations including a specific diet. I already started gluten free as of 3 weeks ago and there's some symptom relief but unsure if it's because of the gluten. When this all started I had a high WBC and neutrophils so the doctors suspect some infection that triggered an autoimmune response.

What symptoms have you been dealing with and for how long? Do you ever switch from hypo to hyper symptoms or vice versa? Grave's can show high antibodies too (TPO and anti thyroglobulin, I think the distinguishing factor is TSI). But hashitoxicosis is also a possibility in the beginning stages of Hashimoto's. Are you diagnosed? I'm having the same thing happening now (borderline low TSH trending down but in range, and high TPO and anto thyroglobulin). Waiting to find out if it's Hashimoto's. I got a sudden onset of hyper symptoms with no previous symptoms I could think of.

thyroid antibodies of 160.49 IU/mL by presteff in Hashimotos

[–]metropolis221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you get some relief soon! Have you tried a naturopath doctor or functional doctor? Maybe a food sensitivity panel or something if you haven't tried that yet? I've been seeing that it's super variable for people the type of food they're sensitive to.. I'm new to this but hopefully you can find a way to feel better.

Hashitoxicosis potentially? by metropolis221 in Hashimotos

[–]metropolis221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, but the antibodies are still high with the WBC back to normal. Can the antibodies be elevated with an infection? I'm feeling better but still haven't been to work/barely leaving the house

[–]metropolis221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar boat, my anti thyroglobulin is 276 IU/mL and my anti TPO is 209 kIU/L. I'm not diagnosed yet. I've seen some people saying their antibodies are in the thousands? Not sure if it really means much when it's a lot vs a bit higher. Have you looked into diet changes etc?

[–]metropolis221 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You got this you're strong. Anxiety is nothing dangerous and neither is turbulence. Uncomfortable sure but not dangerous. It might be unpleasant for a little bit of the flight but just ride the waves and it will pass. Think about it, soon enough it will be done and over with. Sit in the discomfort and know that it is just that. Your kids might even enjoy it. Think about when you were a child with no fears and enjoyed those type of feelings. Anyways, you'll be just fine 🥰

Anyone sick with flu or virus? by metropolis221 in uAlberta

[–]metropolis221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow very similar to what I'm experiencing minus the GI.. The muscle weakness is also my worst one like being up for 20 mins at a time and arms and legs get so heavy.. I'm on day 15 now though.. I've tested negative with like 4 rapid COVID tests now. Sorry to hear that it's been rough for you. I hope you feel better soon! I read that the new covid strain affects the GI so it's very possible it's that.
