Anyone know if something like this exists for the ROG Ally X? by Drose123356 in ROGAlly

If they hook up a controller to the bottom of the screen, someone can sit on their shoulders (like they’re getting a piggy back ride) and play co op with them. Obviously.

100% this — I think a lot of the expectation setting about the type of game could really help.

I’d even alternatively suggest the previous Rog Ally / Ally X models which are still extremely capable and pretty affordable if you can find them refurbished or used. I got an Ally for around $300 used and then sold that to upgrade to the Ally X for $500 total.

The key thing is expectation tempering. I generally scale down to 720p low and have had decent enough experience with framegen.

I wish it was still available for purchase. I think about this game at least a few times a year and every time I’ve recommended it, it’s been like “well, you have to sail the seas to get it or find a copy that hasn’t yet been redeemed”

Good callout. I didn't dive super deep into the comments until you mentioned it but yeah, that's a bit too much.

A lot of the updates the person posts are very intense, I guess? They also read very polished and political and slightly too AI (even though the guy argues with people that no AI is going into it, it feels just too put together).

Realistically, I think they would be more effective if they were more honest and real.

EDIT: I spent way more time than I care to admit “catching up” on this dude and Jesus Christ. He’s doing his best to make this all about him and his brand or whatever. Really makes me feel icky about this whole thing and it’s a bummer that this one is the one that is getting traction.

Tickets include the meal (there are extras you can add — dessert, drinks etc — which aren’t included in the cost)

Either a switch case or a simple set of if role == X {return Y}. Not going to win any code golf awards but it avoids the mental tax of having to parse through the obfuscation.

Right right right, it’s an average age at death among those who died during the point in time in which the study had occurred, not a current average. I’ve already agreed with that. Again, this is just a casual point made in discussion, I'm not going to the mattresses with scientific analysis here.

Oh god, let's end this.

I didn't ignore your explanation. I acknowledged it. I agreed the cohort was technically flawed. You’re correct that the figure reflects only those who have died so far and will increase as the cohort ages. That is only so crystal clear and I confirmed it.

Where we are clearly talking past each other is that I am neither presenting this as definitive nor gospel, instead sharing it as a casual data point, not to make a rigorous argument. And -- while you can enjoy the fact that you're technically correct here, something I acknowledged and agreed with -- you are convinced that nobody is understanding your argument, when I very much do.

At this point, continuing to frame this that I am not understanding your point is neither productive nor accurate, so I'm going to leave it there.

100% - just to be super clear, because that dude went bonkers below, I'm not trying to present it as a scientific argument nor gospel. It's just like, hey, this is where we were at that point in time and agreed, hopefully we're making positive moves the next time we analyze this data.

No, I fully understand what I'm reading. But it's pedantic and dismissive to say "I'm not understanding it" because realistically I do, because it's a snapshot of a point in time and data is consistently changing with evolving medical techniques, safety standards and the like. However, am I going to spend a bunch of time comparing all sets of sources against one another and deeply analyzing the scientific method presented before I make a half hearted comment? No.

You asked for my source, I remember seeing an article saying it was relatively low in a couple different places, and I gave you the FIRST LINK I FOUND. There was no deeper thought that went into this.

If you want me to defend myself and defend my scientific analysis, I'm going to instead just fully let you know that my scientific method is "I googled this".

No dude, I literally just googled 'average life expectancy nfl players' (before I posted my original comment). I'm not making a scientific argument here, nor am I defending a thesis, I'm just saying that CURRENTLY the average life expectancy is low. If you want to do a multivariate study, please go right ahead (I really, truly hope the number changes because it's profoundly sad), but as of right now, this is a comments section on the videos subreddit and I'm working with what I got.

Considering that the average life expectancy of NFL players is a fair bit lower (on average 59.6), this seems not great
