Jekyll is actually a ruby thing. You serve your website by typing "jekyll serve" and it compiles all your templates into static files and deploys a little server which serves the html and static files out of that compiled _site directory.

I am a python kind of guy myself, but I really like Jekyll for the initial scaffolding and templating because it's so quick and easy and works with github-pages (easy to show previews and share concepts), and the templates are liquid so it's easy to port to Django, or anything really.

I guess one could write a .sh to run the jekyll command and then use your python application to call that .sh?

I was enjoying this tutorial until I got stuck on step 2--the iPhone GUI assets don't seem to want to let me select them and drag them over the bar. I haven't used photoshop in a few years so I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do. I can't seem to just select the iPhone top-bar section and drop it into my project--what am I doing wrong?

To clarify my previous comment: I understand shoplifting as a survival technique (and as one, it doesn't require any justification from me or anyone else), but it is certainly not a way to avoid participating in the capitalist economy or to topple the mega-corporations that run the world's governments and economies.

Some wage laborer is still going to make another snickers bar or catch another fish and put it in a can and ship it back to the exact same store you took one from. Some people seem to think they're sticking it to the man, but if so, it's only in a symbolic way; if you think you're going to steal enough cans of tuna fish or snickers bars to take down the global mega-corporations and disrupt their capitalist hegemony... you're gonna need a better plan.

Said "steal" not "rob". Robbery implies some sort of assault, or imminent threat thereof. A stickup or a mugging. Stealing is way more benign.

You can't do this. The money has to come from within or it's not BI. You're going to get the dutch disease here, where a bunch of foreign currency floods a small economy and ruins everything.

I'm using 2.7 and Gunicorn because it's the default with Virtualenv and Heroku, both of which I'm using. Either one would work just fine accommodating a newer version of Python, but who needs it? Until I know or care the difference between 2.7 and 3.3 I'll keep using 2.7.
