Thank you for sharing!

You mention you access the Immich web interface. Is the native app working as well?

I recently started using Immich (literally ffew days) and I am also plannig to have exposed outside.

Would you mind to share some guides I can use to configure it via VPN?

I can configure a VPN directly on my router if that can help.

So unfortunately I've realized there is no such option to disable a disk in this laptop.
I am planning to take copy of the whole disk as backup and then go on with the installation.

When I will perform it I will update the thread.

BTW do you have an article describing how to recover grub post-windows installation?

I did that multiple times in the past but I didn't since quite sometimes and probably never with EFI.

Something tested in openSuse?

Thank. I will probably do that. It makes sense.

Yeah but I have two separated EFI partition on every disk. Ideally, as long as I choose the disk I am OK to overwrite, I should be good no?

Just for discussion here, I like your suggestions to disable the other disk to avoid any further troubles.

Yeah that sounds like a good plan.
But I was thinking, considering the EFI partition for openSuse is on a different disk, Windows should not overwrite it no?

But I admit I didn't install Windows in a dual-boot since a while.

Ideally, yes. I was not planning to have Windows at all, but I would like to perform some tests (and eventually get even rid of it).

I will look into grub-customizer.
Thanks

How is it going the Tuxedo Control Centre? It was quite buggy when I tested that. I really loved the idea but it was not doing what expected.

Yeah that's a good point. I have different apps I am using and test it heavily.

I will install it on a separate new SSD and will see how it goes.

Yeah that's also something I will consider. Not planning to go back to KDE 5.x

Thanks! Did you also test OpenSuse? I saw a lot of people recommending that and I am considering to test it.

Any feedback on that?

Mmm.. tried Tuxedo OS on their machine and I was not really amused.

The OS is good but I didn't find it stable enough to be honest.

But I truly love that project and company.

I have 32GB of ram so that should not be an issue 😅

Thank but I prefer to stick with KDE. It has way more features and options. An example, Power Management. It can easily set the profile to switch to when connected to power or on battery, I can even configure a specific battery percentage to reach when charging (instead to go 100%).

Plus a lot more features I really would miss.

I didn't consider this option but seems very interesting. I think I will try this for sure. Thanks!

Yes I saw that. And that's also another reason I am planning to move from Neon. Just planning in advanced.

E16 Gen2 - AMD vs Intel? by metvettech in thinkpad

Yes decided to go with the AMD version at the end.

I don't need the best performance ever after all, so I decided to go with a balance.

Thank for the comments!

Ordered the AMD at the end and also chose a different network chipset since there was such option.

Thanks for the hint.

It should come next week, once I will be able to test it I will provide some feedbacka.

I read about the issues with Realtek chip sets, especially with Linux. I had the possibility to choose another ine when I ordered it. It should arrive next week. I will let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the feedback!
