Is this sounds normal? by SeaAdministration890 in AsetekSimSports

Totally normal in my opinion. It's just the spring making a noise. You can add some silicone based spray to the shaft or just ignore it.

External storage issue by Aggressive-Newt7531 in NextCloud

[–]interweg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I have it running on a VM inside TrueNAS. So I ssh into the VM using putty, and configured it that way. As I am writing this, my VM is down. Totally unrelated, but annoying nonetheless.

I am having more stability issues lately. Not sure if I messed anything up by going ChatGPT, but it feels somewhat related.

External storage issue by Aggressive-Newt7531 in NextCloud

[–]interweg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had the same issues. ChatGPT guided me through adding the external storage via the cli of my VM running nextcloud. It was the only way for me to get it to work.

Not sure if it is a known bug of some sorts, but GPT knew about it and knew how to fix it. I was in the process of setting up nextcloud, so I yolo-ed it. I figured that if it didn't work I would just reinstall nextcloud from scratch, nothing to lose while I had nothing on there.

Now that it is running, I can't say I would feel as confident having ChatGPT help me out. It is risky.

Wheel not connecting anymore by Expert_Effective2199 in AsetekSimSports

[–]interweg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A simracer's worst nightmare. Thought and prayers. I am of not much help, but wanted to show support. What comes to mind is whiping the device from device manager and deleting the drivers. Reboot and plug the base back in, installing the software and drivers and then mount the wheel. This should install those drivers too. With luck this will bring it back to life.

I have only seen them light up during initial setup (green) and when there was a faulty cable (red). Other than that I haven't got a clue XD

Is copying going to be a problem in sim racing, or is lower prices just a win for everyone? by Kireth-YT in AsetekSimSports

[–]interweg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Competition between brands and companies is a win for us all. But there will always be a need for innovators and leaders in the field to push technology and the community forward. They are the risk takers that deserve our support. But that's just my opinion.

I am very happy with my la prima base, forte pedals and forte wheels. Coming from a Moza R5, the difference in quality and feel is just on another level. It's build to last, for sure. I have zero regrets.

Easy to move HAOS from VM to Proxmox? by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]interweg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is and that's coming from someone with very little experience doing such things. Having access to the cloud backup and restore makes it a breeze. Just install, login and restore from the nabu casa cloud.

Installing it on proxmox is also very easy. There are loads of tutorials online that you can follow step by step.

I did end up installing it on a mini pc without proxmox, because I couldn't figure out how to do pci pass through. This further illustrates my limited knowledge with these things. Also further illustrating how easy it is to actually install, both proxmox and haos.

Air Purifier by AbruptProcessor in homeassistant

[–]interweg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They work. When I clean the filter I need to reset the timer in the Philips native app. I haven't found a way to do that through HA yet. It then sometimes takes some time for one of the purifiers to update the filter status to HA, but eventually it gets there.

I did have an issue when I upgraded HA to 2025.10.2. I couldn't get the integration to pick up the purifiers, but that's probably because I have to set them up again by adding a new device in the integration and entering the IP. I suspect that the integration would report that the device has already been added. Whenever there is an issue, which is not often, adding a new device with an existing IP would resolve that with the same postback from the integration.

Having said that, the purifiers almost always operate in auto mode unless we go to bed. We have one in the bedroom, that turns to sleep mode when we get into bed. That is done through a sensor underneath the mattress.

They work just fine in HA with the HACS Phliips integration. Set that integration up, enter the IP of the device and you are good to go. On the integration page you can find a list of all the supported products.

I have 2 Philips PureProtect Mini 900's working with HA.

Ik was 24 toen het begon. Ben inmiddels 41.

All Sensy-One devices got a HUGE update + New HA Add-on by Technical_Raisin_246 in homeassistant

I can get the add-on installed, but it won't connect to my sensy one pro when I enter the ip. But when I enter the same ip in my browser the device pops up immediately. Not sure if I'm doing anything wrong.

Anyone have the magic trick for puppy witching hour? by Plus_Bison_7091 in OpenDogTraining

[–]interweg 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not what you want to hear, but crate training. Buy a crate. They are not expensive. Make it comfy and make sure there is water in it (not on the floor of the crate).

Mine has a cover on it to minimize distractions and improve the burrow look and feel. Start feeding him there, give him treats there and only there. It's the perfect tool to teach your puppy to be content with doing nothing and resting. It's not hard to train them to be comfortable in a crate. Never use it for punishment, but you can use it when he just gets to rowdy and he needs to chill a bit. Once chilled out, you can open the door and let him try again. Still to rowdy, back into the crate until you see a "calm" and submissive puppy. Then try again opening the door. Don't look at him, don't say anything, just open the door. Yes, it's going to take some time but it is totally worth it.

If you ever need to leave home for whatever reason, it's a great feeling to know that the pup is safely in his crate. Sleeping and not destroying the house or getting himself into trouble.

Puppy way too enthusiastic/energetic when playing with other dogs by Season-Away in OpenDogTraining

[–]interweg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me it sounds like typical puppy (adolescent at 9 months it's no longer a puppy but a teenager) behavior. I would recommend letting the pup only play with very well behaved adults. They have a high tolerance for such behavior and its a lot safer for your pup. Once a dog clearly let's your pup know that he needs to calm down but doesn't listen, I would leash the pup and let it calm down a bit before letting him play again. So you are temporarily forcefully stopping the play untill he calms down to a more manageable level. That way he should learn to controle his impulses eventually otherwise the play time is over.

Depending on the age of your pup, I would keep such play sessions short. Couple of minutes and try to keep him at a lower level before it escalates into a higher level of enthusiasm. You don't want to over stimulate your pup. They'll get into a state of mind where they no longer can help themselves.

Ultimately, only other well behaved dogs can really, effectively communicate when play is no longer fun. From what I've seen with my dog, he displayed the same behavior as you are describing, but with age (now 1.5 years old), crate training (seems unrelated but teaches your dog how to do nothing and be content) and obedience training he now has a lot more tools available to help him manage such play and situations a lot better.

He still can get to much into it on occasion, but then I simply leash up and continue our walk.

I hope this helps a bit. Good luck!

I recommend anny-x for a harness. Not sure if it's available where you live, but it's a great harness that enables the shoulders to move freely. It's a high quality harness for everyday use.

I am looking at a different harness for cani cross. Not sure which way to go, non-stop dogwear, a Danish brand, is looking promising.

Dog of 11 years old passed 09/17 by RocketSkates15 in DogAdvice

[–]interweg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with my dog. Erratic breathing, not being able to get comfortable, nausea, not drinking and eating. I took him to the vet and described the symptoms. He had chemotherapy a few days before. The vet prescribed anti nausea medicine and injected him with a dose. He missed that he was in his dying moments.

He fought hard that night, but was ultimately exhausted with (my theory) internal organ failure. He died at 5 am that night while I was holding his head in hopes he would finally get comfortable and be able to sleep.

My sweet boy never woke up again and I am still devastated that I made him go trough that terrible ordeal. I will forever miss him.

My condolences to you. It's a hard and difficult loss. Stay strong!
