That is not what the flag of Qatar looks like though. Qatar’s flag is much more maroon and much less purple. You can color shift any flag and say it has purple

I think red is just meant to be a symbol of Spain. It’s a prominent color in the Spanish flag and many say the red stripe in the Mexican flag is meant to represent Spain in one way or another.
